Motor was an exact model current production replacement for the origional one on my compressor.

You have to be sure of your motor rotation and the replacement motor rotation, frame type and shaft size etc.

I had the origional motor for more than 10 years of regular use before failure and then installed a chinese one and it lasted only a coulple of years of light use.

The new motor seems fine, starts good runs cool) but I have only used it for a month. Be sure YOUR BREAKER IS NEW and JUST the next size above current rating of motor. I burned up the 5 horsepower motor on my compressor after about 15 years of use due to normal wear. I purchased this motor as a replacement. The motor bolted right into place and all electrical connections wear easily made up. The motor works great and I suspect is good for another 15 or 20 years.

5 Horse Power looks like its there. Not too sure about the ball bearing the instruction states its got sleeve bearing. So I'm confused a bit now. Other than that the motor is great.

After only about 5 years, my Ingersoll Rand SS3-E's motor stopped working. The motor was diagnosed by the local repair shop as having an internal short. They tried to repair it ant totally botched it up. In any case, this motor was procured and not only is it a little bit smaller physically than the original motor but it also seems to be more powerful. In any case, it's been installed for about 5 months and works perfectly.

The first one of these motors arrived on time but failed in the first 5 mins of operation. The supplier listened, apologized, explained how it was rare but possible for a new motor to fail, and then promptly shipped a new one (at their cost) immediately. Although this motor does not work more than a few minutes per week in my application, the new motor works fine so far.

Because I completely trust and rely upon Amazon, and consequently Amazon's outside suppliers, they were the first place I went to buy what is a fair size purchase of an item that I would not typically purchase online. I am a faithful very happy Amazon customer.
