I've used this compressor for about 30 hrs so far. Works very well. This is my third compressor. Both of my other compressors were DeWalts, one 5HP and one 9HP. DeWalt stopped making the gas portable compressors, so I decided on the Industrial Air as the next replacement. Below are the + and I have. Overall I really like this compressor. The negative points are all small and are not a real issue with the engine and pump itself. Overall, I would recommend this product.

Honda Engine works great. Between the engine and three pumps (verses standard two pumps from other companies), the RPM is lower than my other compressors and therefore more quiet.

Customer Tech line is very helpful and I actually get a person to talk to after only a few minutes of wait time.

One of the liquid filled pressure gauges developed a crack within a few hours of use and was leaking fluid, but when I call the Tech line in the manual, the group sent out a replacement and I got it within a few days. Very good turn around time. I think it was a manufacture defect and not an issue with the compressor itself.

Low center of gravity and very stable.

Large gas tank with good run time.

Handles are very heavy duty and overall a solid unit.

It comes with battery start, but no battery. The Honda engine starts so easily that I don't plan on buying a battery. Saved a little money and weight.

The pump fan that the belt attaches to is extra large and moves a lot of air across the pump to help keep things cool. The copper pipes also have heat dispersing fins attached and work well. I think this will help extend its useful life, as my other compressors got very hot and was harder on the parts because of the excessive heat.

There was very little information on Industrial Air brand until I found out it's partent company is PowerMate Brand and more company information was then available. I think having links between the two would help it sell better.

The refill plug for the compressor oil is made of cheap plastic and I think I'm going to order a spare. I'm afraid that it will crack or break. Everything is so durable on this compressor except for this plug. Other compressors use a metal or stainless steel plug.

This unit is heavier than any compressor I've used before. It's 360 lbs, almost 70 lbs more than my 9 HP DeWalt. Luckily I don't have to move it very often. I would prefer a 17 Gal tank instead of the 9 Gal tank. I think that would reduce the weight (one tank vs two smaller tanks) and also provide more air capacity. The three pumps verses the standard two adds weight also.

The belt was out of alignment when I got it. You have to adjust the motor position to adjust the belt. Not difficult, but not something you want to have to do to a new compressor.

I have owned and used Intercomp products for 15 years. I have owned this particular gauge for 3 years. I use it to set pressure on motorcycle racing slicks. It is accurate, easy to read, and the fitting swivels making it easy to access valve stems in the center of a motorcycle wheel. It has a check valve so it will hold the pressure until you release it. I didn't really think much about the glow-in-the-dark feature but it has come in handy early in the morning when the sun isn't up yet. Shine a flash light on the face for a 5-10 seconds an it will glow nicely while checking pressures. The silicone boot around the gauge does a great job of protecting it. Be sure and write your name on it. They have a habit of running away:)

I bought this to replace the blow gun I've had in my truck for five years that developed a very slight, intermittent air leak in the internal spring valve. After installing this, I decided I'd try out the needle tip included with the gun. Two days after leaving my house, and after using the air gun one time for less than a minute, the needle blew right out of the screw on tip. This really didn't bother me, as I'd never used that type of tip before and therefore wasn't going to miss it this time. The big issue came when after four days I began to hear a fairly loud hiss coming from the sleeper berth of my truck where the air gun is installed. Upon further investigation, I found that the blow gun had developed the same kind of leak, albeit several times worse, that my old one did after close to five years of service.

This was nothing but a waste of time and money.

I have not had a problem with this product at all. The little red cushion at the top disappeared a while ago. I recommend taking it off as soon as you get it so you don't have to worry about finding it. It's been over two years now and this baby is still kicking. I Took off the black rubber part and simply use the short metal peice. Others have bought the more expensive ones and this one does the same thing (blow compressed air).

I bought one of these hose reels because the price was so low. It was also to be used infrequently, making it harder to justify an expensive model. We have a Cox Reels auto-rewind air hose in our garage and a Reel Craft model in another location, but those professional-grade brands cost a whole lot more.

Pros:

The all-steel rewind mechanism works well and is sturdy. It's easy to find a lock point when unwinding the hose and just as easy to rewind all of the hose when you're done. There's plenty of room for 50' of 3/8" air hose.

The steel frame is strong. For example, the plate that attaches to the wall is nearly 1/4" thick.

The swivel mechanism where the air hose connects to the reel is brass.

Inexpensive.

Cons:

Throw a few coins into a large metal can and giggle it vigorously. That's the sound you'll hear from this reel when the hose unwinds or rewinds. (The noise comes from the rewind spring clanging on the inner and outer sheet metal spring-housing covers.) I put 1/8" thick stick-on foam on that cover, but the reel still sounds like it has loose parts.

After one year, the rubber hose broke apart, about 4" from the end. It didn't just leak, the end actually fell off. The ENTIRE hose had deep cracks over its entire length, so it was unrepairable. I replaced it with a genuine Good Year air hose. By contrast, the original air hose on our Cox Reel still looks fine after nearly 20 years.

Summary:

I should have bought a Cox Reel, Reel Craft, or other quality reel, rather than trying to save a few dollars with this brand.

I read the reviews before I bought mine. The 25 and 50 foot ones are the same just comes with different length hose (sorry to insult your intelligence). I use them on average 2-3 times a week, so not a whole lot of use and so far they are doing well. Can't complain. I just didn't have the $$ for a $300.00 one and I don't use it as often as a commercial shop. It arrived on time, no dents, missing parts, etc.

This reel works well and as it says it's supposed to. I use it lightly because it's just in my home garage. This reel is not heavy duty and you can tell it wouldn't last long in an industrial shop. For home use this is exactly what I was looking for. My dad has a much stronger commercial hose reel and the spring action is much stronger on his but for the price, this does the job well. Yes, the host on this seems cheap and I don't think it will last the life of the reel but.... it's not that expensive of a reel! You get what you pay for... if you want the best, this isn't it... if you want to get the job done and are not using it daily, this is a great choice!

I bought this to use with surebonder's 9615 upholstery staple gun to reupholster a bunch of chairs. it works great. i'm rather impressed. it is really tiny, easy to use and i'm surprised that it makes no mess of any kind. i sit right on my dinning table to use it. it was loud but not as loud as some reviews made it out to be. the trick is to use it on a piece of carpet. it also is not nearly as loud in a normal room of your house as it is if used in an empty room that has a hard floors and no furniture such as garage or cement basement.

my only gripe was that it took me several days to figure out why i couldn't connect it to the staple gun. it does not come with a male quick connector that is needed to attach the hose to power tools. i bought this at home depot for under $2.

i read many reviews that complained of it not working. after using it this month i can kind of understand why. it's not the compressor. if you have not used one before i will give you the short list of resons it won't work that all happened to me until i got used to using a compressor.

there is a knob under it that lets it dry between uses. you must close it tightly before using it.

you need to really, really tighten the hose onto the compressor before use.

if you over oil your air tools or always leave them connected, the oil will seep into the male connector at end of hose and trap condensation. if this happens, you will need to wipe out the connector with a paper towel until it feels dry again.

at the end of long work days you'll want to let it dry out. you should take the hose off and hang it so both ends hang down and open the drain knob underneath. I have found it to work super efficiently since i started to do this. now i don't need to keep running it to keep at 60 80 psi. although i do have to turn it on ever 10 or 20 minutes for about 30 seconds to keep the psi.

I bought this compressor because I wanted a small tank-based compressor for my garage for keeping my car and bike tires filled and for filling basketballs and soccer balls.

I have had it for about a month now and it works great for what I bought it for.

The good:

1. Its small and light, easy to pick up and move around. Does not take up much space in my work area. It has plenty of power for filling tires and basketballs.

2. Great price.

3. Easy to use.

The bad:

1. Noisy. I read other reviews that said it was loud, but in use, it is louder than I expected. With the small tank, the motor ends up runninng most of the time I am using it. I find I have to wear ear protection when I am using it, even when I am outside in the driveway.

2. Light weight. Being light weight is nice when I want to pick it up and carry it around the house and garage, but it has its downside. It came with a 25 foot coiled air hose and when you get the cord extended out 8-10 feet, it tips the compressor over on its side.

That's the good and the bad. Works great for what I need it for. I don't need a compressor for air tools, so I did not want to get a bigger compressor because it takes up too much room around my workbench. I used to use a small electric compressor without a tank, but it took too long to fill up car tires. This Campbell Hausfeld works perfect for what I need. I would buy it again.

This air compressor does not hold a lot of air one gallon to be exact. However, it fills to its maximum 100 psi relatively quickly and once there, will add about 6 or 7 psi to my each of my car tires. This is plenty to air up a tire and by the time I go to the next tire and check it's pressure, the compressor is back to 100 psi and ready to go. For me and my needs, which are not commercial or professional, this thing does the trick for the right price.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas a year and a half ago. I used it to inflate car tires a few times a year. A few months ago the pressure would not build past 42lbs. After some troubleshooting I replaced the safety valve for about 24.00 (Sears Parts Store). Still would not build. I ended up taking apart the piston assembly, it looked fine no burnt or scratched valve no bad piston ring. Re-assembled and it was fixed! 100lbs psi again. Two days later down to 25lbs. This thing is loud and after taking this apart I can see why its cheap. The only replacement for the piston I can find is the whole motor/piston assembly which is probably more than a new compressor. Look elsewhere for a better quality unit.

I bought this air compressor to use for airbrushing. I need 20-40 psi and less than 1 cfm. This compressor will generate 100 psi. Here is the funny part... the instruction sheet says for break-in you should turn the regulator valve clockwise all the way and leave it open (no hose, etc) and run for 5 minutes before using. Fair enough. No regulator... no valve... the think runs 100 psi and just splills that out into what ever you hook up to it. You would have to add a regulator to it. The other joke... it was so incredibly loud it was louder than my 6 HP 60 gallon upright compressor in my garage!!! Ran it in my basement with the doors and windows shut and my wife was concerned the neigbors Easter dinner would be unejoyable in their homes in the neibhorhood around the house. The noise was incredible... I would say equivalent to a Jet air craft taking off in close proximity in terms of decibles. I have been exposed to two of Campbell Hausfeld's compressors... both were the worst pieces of engineering garbage I have ever seen. No reflection on Amazon please.

This product arrived in non-working/defective order and Amazon has a policy of not accepting returns on this type of equipment, yet the manufacturer refuses to take any responsibility for this defective product. I'm still trying to resolve the situation with Amazon and with Campbell Hausfeld, which by the way, keeps you waiting on their customer service line for over an hour even in off hours. I've ended up purchasing another better pressure washer from the local Home Depot that was better quality and lower price just to get the job I needed done.

In more detail, it appears that Campbell Hausfeld does not bother to properly empty the oil out of the unit, contrary to the shipping requirements of Fedex (who delivered this) and other shippers. The oil saturated the sparkplugs, air filter and other parts of the engine. I'm not engine expert so that is just one problem; I would not be surprised if there are others.

If I was a first time customer with Amazon, this would be enough to never come back, but I definitely will never ever buy anything from Campbell Hausfeld again.

I'd suggest you check with the manufacturer first before buying anything from Amazon that is not returnable, such as any gas-powered equipment, and also check prices at Home Depot I certainly wish I had never made this purchase.

I've never owned an air tool set before and only used one once previously. Since I do work on my vehicles some, and just recently needed to borrow an impact driver to change my front brake pads, I decided it was time I should have my own set. I shopped around, read lots of reviews and for the money, this set seemed like a good combination of quality and price. Delivery was very fast and the set does seem to be well built. Make no mistake, this is NOT a commercial grade product and is not marketed as such. The meager included documentation clearly states "For home and DIY use ONLY."

This brings me to my only complaint, tempered by praise for the manufacturer's outstanding customer support. When I opened the case, I found only three, very sparse "Operating" Manuals" which were virtually useless to someone without any previous air tool experience. All the manuals referred to an "Instruction Manual" which was not in the case, so I contacted the manufacturer to request the "missing" manual. To their credit, they responded within one day to let me know that there was no instruction manual but they would be happy to answer any questions I had about the product. I then proceeded to pepper them with numerous questions, to which they courteously and quickly responded. Within a couple days exchanging numerous emails, I had all my answers and am comfortable with proceeding to use my new set.

I was very impressed with Primefit's responsive customer support and they did say they are working on a general manual for the set, but could not provide a completion date.

I was sorely disappointed with both the 1/2" wrench and the 3/8" wrench. Both were underpowered and I was forced to go back to my old impact wrench I was using to get the bolts off my Sienna. I immediately returned mine for a refund. I guess you get what you pay for.

In my kit, the finishing nailer was refurbished, the rest new. It didn't work at all out of the box. It was so bad it almost surely didn't work when it left the repair center. Porter Cable (PC) would not take the unit back; I had to take it to a repair center which meant taking time off of work. When I picked it up, they said a part was missing, that they couldn't repair it, and that it could not have worked when it left the repair facility. I contacted PC again and they sent me a prepaid return mailing label and exchanged it for a new unit in retail packaging. In the end, PC did the right thing but I'm still annoyed that I had to invest three hours of my time to get it resolved.

Now that everything works, it seems to be of decent quality. the compressor is loud, but the largish tank and high pressure are very, very nice. Overall, if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go for the Bostich set for approximately the same price, but I'm happy with the set that I have.

I bought this last week because I am working on a 12ft high x 36ft long x 4ft deep childrens playhouse. There was no way I was hammer nailing all of the roof shingles, trim, etc... So I went on line and saw this package. Let me say that it is AWESOME! It looked brand new. There was no visual signs of any prior use. Other than "Inspected by 3-1" stickers on everything you would think it was brand new. I have used over 4000 Finish Nails, and over 2500 Finish nails since it arrived (I haven't used the stapler yet). It has performed flawlessly. I am so glad I got it. It is a great value!

The guns in this kit are great, however I think PC should have stepped it up to the better brad nailer... Guns worked with zero problems, zero jams, zero misfires. Adjustable depth works very well.

Not a huge fan of the compressor, not just with this kit, but any combo kit. I wish they would take some of the better compressors and make them into a combo pack for a little more money. mainly because outside of a combo pack, the guns are pretty expensive. You're basically buying this combo for the guns and a starter compressor till you can buy a better one.

Item arrived in great working condition. It had some other guys last name etched into the bottom, but otherwise in pristine condition. Worked like a charm.

I saw the same kit at Home Depot for $289. So... This is a wonderful value.

Received the pump when promissed, so far it has worked as advertised. I really like the auto shut off when the tire pressure reaches your selected pressure. Some advice, if you set the pressure for 32 pounds of pressure and the tire pressure is already at 32 psi or HIGHER the pump will not start, it only starts when the tire pressure is BELOW what you set psi for. I have already used it for the kids soccor balls, my vehicle tires (Ford F150) and my travel trailer tires, with air pumps that need to be plugged in the a power source, this would not work on my travel trailer because the standard 10 foot power cord would be too short for me to reach the trailer tires!. It also came in handy when having to winterize my travel trailer by pressurizing the water lines to blow out the water from the lines. Also, a great price for the convenience of not needing to plug it in to an outlet or cigarette lighter!

I bought this for my husband as a gift. We have a camper and he wanted something that we could take with us when we travel that doesn't need electricity. The first one we received did not work (worked for about 3 minutes, then quit), but they quickly sent me a replacement and it works great! Be aware that you must cool the unit for 10 minutes after running it for 10 minutes so it doesn't burn out. I added about 4 psi to my vehicle tires and it ran for less than a minute per tire. It runs quiet for an inflator. The built-in lighted dial guage is very accurate, but kind of hard to read because the marks are small and close together.

Setting the target pressure is easy, you just twist the guage until a pointer lines up with the psi you want. The inflator automatically shuts off at that pressure and it is accurate and consistent. No switching back and forth between filling and checking with a separate tire guage and bleeding air to hit the target pressure. The setting stays until you move it again, so you can bring all your tires to the same pressure without re-setting it for each tire. No fuss like with a digital one. Super convenient.

I recommend charging the battery immediately after use and keeping it fully charged at all times. The lead acid battery will have the longest lifetime that way. Once the battery gives out, the only way to run it is directly powered from a 12V vehicle outlet.

The manual and the labelling of switches and sockets is a little confusing, but operation is not overly complicated. There are two switches and two power ports. You'll figure it out.

You could burn it out with a big job like completely filling an RV tire, raft, air tank, etc. unless you stop every 10 minutes. As long as you stay within the limits, this will be a good tool. Probably the most convenient way to maintain vehicle tire pressures.

Works great. This item has a way of pre-selecting the amount of tire pressure and you let it run until the tire is properly inflated. Good buy.

I have a Central Pneumatics 4 HP 10 gallon compressor from Harbor Freight. This is a close replacement. I involves changing the copper line to the tank but the lever action is less prone to problems as the button switch that come on the compressors. You need access to a flaring tool and less than a foot of 1/4" copper line. The actual switch must be made by the same company as it is identical. I happy with the upgrade.

I broke a fitting off in the original switch on my air compressor, so I ordered this one as a replacement. It installed easy enought and the compressor is working fine again. I am very pleased and with Summer coming with bike tires, balls, and water toys. Oh, and the tires on our vehicles might need some air too.

Switch works great. Time will tell how long it lasts, but it appeares to be as well made as the OEM switches on compressors from the big box stores. Having the on/off switch is nice to have. I don't have to unplug my compressor when not using.

OK, so I'm a nut: I bought the Legacy 8611 to install in my home garage. It seems very sturdy -but maybe I'm not giving it the heavy work-out you might, on the bed of a service truck, or overhead some grease bay. (Note: If you're concerned about such things, this model is from China rather than Iowa; nevertheless it seems well-made. I chose the 8611 over Legacy's newer "LevelWind" models even though they're made in the USA and have the hose-leveler feature -because they are plastic (PP) instead of metal! Also I like the idea of bolting it down to my slab, versus the LevelWind models have rubber feet and a wall bracket.) Though the description doesn't say so, a 3-foot lead-in hose and two fittings are included in the package. Also, the photo is incorrect in respect to the way it was actually packaged: to use it on the floor (as shown), you must unbolt the upper arm and rotate it 90 degrees (tilt it forward). It's no big deal, but just in case you're some kind of wimp who doesn't want to fiddle around with his/her new toys...

Great hose reel. Very heavy and well built and i'd give it five stars if it were not for one little detail. The hose that is supplied seems to have missed the addition of whatever chemical ingredient that keeps it from depositing its red color on everything it touches including your hands. I tried wiping the whole thing down with denatured alcohol to no avail. Oh well. Despite the fact that I was able to install mine on the ceiling by myself I doubt that any ordinary person could do the installation alone. Yeah, it's that heavy.

This reel was purchased to replace a broken Harbor Freight reel. The quality is much better that the HF one. The hose quality is also much better. We mounted this reel overhead in a busy shop, it sees a lot of use. We have not had any problems with this reel, I would recommend it to anyone. It is the perfect reel for a shop or home garage.
