Got a great deal on this compressor, it's fairly

new, doing light duty around the house, so it has

not been tested very heavily. It's supposed to be

brand new, not refurbished, but the box it came in

made me question that, the box looked like it was

shipped around the world, and then the plastic carrying

handle on the top cracked on the first job in the

back yard in the first 2 weeks of use. It's supposed

to be brand new, and the plastic carrying handle

cracks in the first 2 weeks....what's with that?

Made me question the quality of construction of the

whole thing, it's a high pressure compressor for

goodness sake, but still using it, others swear by

it.

I've had mine for about two years, and use it mostly for putting air in our tires. Started a woodworking project this weekend and after the first few hours the pressure reducer has gone out, and the compressor no longer works. I now have to decide if I want to try to repair it or buy something different.

Do NOT purchase this compressor. Mine burned out with very little use. Others have had constant problems with the regulator. The pressure regulator is a piece of junk.

Bostitch used to be synonymous with quality. This compressor is garbage. Air chuck leaked almost immediately and was replaced, regulator always leaked. Cooling fan stripped out and exploded within a year. Fan was replaced. Motor has now died after only two years. When you can get a compressor, 3 nail guns, hose, bag, etc... for $250, I guess you shouldn't expect much, but when you are in the middle of a job, you can't afford for things to be breaking down. This compressor is not reliable.

My buddy owns this compressor, and has had it for at least 3 years. We do a lot of handyman work. He and I have run roofing nailers, framers, trim nailers, and used it pretty heavily throughout the years. Never had a problem that I know. The air regulator is stiff and not too dependable, but we don't usually turn the pressure down and just leave it at max, which is about 120 psi. There's not too many tools that can't take that pressure.

I like the fact that it is light and relatively quiet. So you can plug it in indoors and you can talk over it. It vibrates a little and wants to walk around on a slick floor, but oh well. It is too dependable to not give a high rating, although there are obviously compressors that put out more air.

Bostitch makes pretty good stuff, and this is no exception. The thing I like about it most is that it will start reliably when it is cold, and being oil-free it won't spill oil when tossed in the back of a truck crooked... which happens to be one of our favorite pastimes!!
