I needed a brad nailer and compressor in order to properly finish some home remodeling. I was putting in a lot of new baseboards and other finishing trim and a hammer and nail just doesn't cut it anymore if you want a professional look. I bought this combo pack as a refurbished item from an ebay reseller and it works like a charm. The 6 gallon tank means it has plenty of capacity...I get like 40 brads in before it cycles on, and with 2.8cfm at 90 psi, the compressor only cycles on for a few seconds every couple of minutes with the brad nailer. The nailer works great too. Now i'm shopping for a bostich framing nailer to rebuild my fence with.

I did used multiple 2.0 HP compressor prior to this for multiple projects including wood flooring and crown molding. This is first time I am using a 6.0 HP compressor and also pancake type.

Pros

1. Good for heavy duty projects projects.

2. Included brad nailer support multiple size of nails.

3. Feels and looks really sturdy.

4. Multiple people complaint on the sound level. But what I see is that a 6.0 HP motor will make that sound, if you have a low sound, go with 2.0 HP ones.

5. The hose connector is very easy and the hose come with the nailer kit is good.

6. Within 1 min after fresh start the compressor is ready to serve.

Cons

1. Size is big and eventhough this is expected, still you need to make sure you have enough space to keep it.

2. Weigh's around 40 pounds, so be sure you have enough muscle to carry around.

3. Start switch is really bad design. A switch which is pull and push. I am not sure why that design, instead of regular switch.

Overall the refurb unit came with great condition. As mentioned by many customers, CPO did not had any packing in the box, but the box is really big and strong to keep it ok during shipment. Brad Nailer and hose is brand new.

I recommend this product to home improvement passionate.

LOVE this compressor! I have had Porter Cable compressor that leaked air like crazy and was very loud. I had a Makita Big Bore compressor that stopped running after 2 weeks. Decided to go with the Bostitch as I used to have this compressor and had to sell it due to some financial problems. Recovers very fast and I can run my Hitachi full head framing nailer with no problems at all, actually, i could run 2 if I had another and someone to run with me. Holds 6 gallons and actually isn't very loud. No compressor is 100% quiet, but isn't obnoxious like the Porter Cable. I bought it new because I only buy Amazon Prime shipped products and didnt really want to go the reconditioned route, I use my compressor too much for a reconditioned unit.

I just bought this Bostitch unit (on sale at Lowes) to replace my Porter Cable unit which just failed after about two years of light home-owner use. (Air started leaking out of the cylinder head.) The Bostitch is the superior compressor. It is slightly more powerful in terms of CFM yet significantly quieter. The drain valve is a real valve that is clearly visible and requires only a quarter turn to open. The Porter Cable valve is more like a screw that requires multiple turns and is located under the unit where it is not visible and you have to feel around for it a bit of pain.

The brad nailer works great it's nice to be able to drive the longer (2") brads when you need to.

I had this compressor about a year now and there's no complaint about it. The nailer works ok but at some time i will upgrade to another Bostitch brad nailer.
