My friends and I have been using this product for many years to inflate our whitewater rafts. It works well, and I like that I can use it to deflate the rafts as well as inflate. This is a big plus at river take-outs when we need to deflate the boats as quickly and completely as possible to get them loaded on the trailer. This product WILL NOT completely inflate a raft, because it isn't designed to. This is a high volume, low pressure inflator. It will quickly get your raft to about 60-70%, then you must use a high pressure pump to top it off. I'm not sure that folks understand that when they buy it. They think it's not working right when it doesn't get their inflatable item rock hard. I also like that this product comes in either a 12-volt model and a battery clamp model. I prefer the 12-volt model for ease of use in the front and rear cargo area outlets of my SUV. The only reason I have to buy a new "orange torpedo" every few years is that people aren't careful, and they keep stepping on/ driving over the plug end.

I purchased this product hoping to use it to inflate water tubes and towables for tubing with our bowrider boat. This inflator does not have the power to inflate a even a one person towable tube. I had to go back to my hand pump to do the job. It also doesn't come with any adaptors so you need to mail order the adaptors for $4.50 plus $5 S&H just to be able to use the product.

I bought this to air up a lake float. It seems to be solidly built but has a weak fan motor. It is not good for anything that needs pressure.

I purchased this item and it only ran for enough time to fill up two rubber rafts, a total time of about 2 hours then the motor started making a funny noise and then the unit totally quit working. I would not suggest buying this item, it really gets HOT after only a few minutes of running time and is really LOUD. Save your money and purchase another inflator/deflator.

I used Magic Airs 12 years ago when I was a raft guide. I switched to LVL a number of years ago because they had a little more volumne. But the LVL's seem more delicate-not a good thing on the landing.

When I got this one, it didn't put out the volumne that I remembered, so I cut off the cigarette lighter plug, put on clips, and attach right to the battery. That increases the output. I don't know what that's all about. I had never seen one with the cigarette lighter plug before. I see now they make them both ways.

I would buy one again if I was shopping for an inflator.
