I paint houses, vehicles, motorcycles and equipment. One of my Airless sprayers cost over $5000. The automotive sprayers (Devilbiss) are about $500 each. I've always wanted to get an HVLP spray gun. But, with so many available and with such a wide price span, I decided to start with something inexpensive and see how they function.

When I took this Tool Force sprayer out of its box I could see and feel it was much, much nicer that the price I paid for it. There isn't anything cheap looking about the sprayer. The head, needle and the body emulates the quality of my guns ten times the price.

I've paid more for just a needle kit for other sprayers.

I started off spraying Latex paint. I knew I had to thin it, and it wouldn't deliver the volume equal to the Airless. But, after tinkering with the air/volume/fan adjustments it's performance actually amazed me. It is fantastic on small projects. It easily opens up on big areas and tones down on intricate areas. Loose the Air Regulator and install a light whip hose and this gun gets everywhere, at all angles. The material in the cup weighs almost as much as the whole gun. It still worked good with a small compressor, but it performs best with a big compressor with more air volume.

I tried using a few of those 'electric' guns. Besides being inefficient, they are Very noisy and heavy.

After a couple hours use, I cleaned almost the whole Sprayer with just water, then a little lacquer thinner to make it look like new again. My airless sprayers takes 2 hours to disassemble the pump, filter, hose and gun, and a gallon of lacquer thinner.

So, I'm now considering purchasing a Nice HLVP. But this one has such an even delivery of material, a perfect conical spray pattern and fantastic control with all the available adjustments..... I'll have to see what other models they have. Maybe another cool color.

I picked up this gun to spray oil based urethane on my front doors. It was impossible to get a smooth and even finish with a brush with Varathane's satin urethane I tried twice. So, although I have never used a spray gun, I deciced to give this one a try and see if I could get a satisfactory finish. I was not disappointed with the end result. The finish is far better than can be achieved with a brush. Just be prepaired for a little learning curve when learning to spray.

Internet searches will give you tips how to hold and move the gun, what tip sizes are needed for your type of work, pressure settings etc. Then practice on a piece of scrap. Even after doing all of this homework, I still managed to get a run on the first side of the first door. A little more experimenting revealed that I had the pressure too low (30 psi). I turned it up to 40 and presto! Easy spraying and a smooth finish. The information avaliable will tell you to use the lowest pressure possible but but my experience is don't be afraid to turn it up a bit for varnishes.

I used this HVLP for spraying on Second Skin Audio's Spectrum Spray sound deadener and it worked GREAT! The provided 2.0mm nozzle worked awesome for spraying the very thick product at a reasonable 40-50 PSI. The adjustable fan spray was very accurate and allowed me to get into the very tight areas with ease. And VERY low excess "particulates" in the air while spraying which is very nice.

The provided pressure regulator is a nice addition, but wish it were of higher quality, then again I wouldn't expect much more from a $20-$30 HVLP gun.

The only real complaint is the trigger, when using the gun for a period longer then 15 minutes your hand and fingers get fatigued, but applying some PlastiDip or other similar product helps.

All in all a very reasonably price HVLP gun that does a decent job.

The gun arrived quickly and worked well right out of the box. It took a minute or two to get the adjustments dialed in, and then it was off to the shop

I was painting a wood cabinet that was previously primed with Kilz.

I used new ACE latex acrylic enamel semi-gloss and the 2.0 tip

I thinned the paint with a bit of water and added some Floetrol to slow drying.

It works nice at about 45 psi on the regulator

Much easier and quicker than brushing and the finish is very smooth.

I've been using this sprayer over the past month to spray varnish onto wood-strip canoes. After dialing in a bit too much flow the first time and getting a few drips, I cut back on the amount of varnish and set the pressure dial to about 35 whatevers, and I've gotten coat after coat of smooth and quick layers. I love this thing! I'm running it off a 6 gallon Porter Cable pancake compressor, and it works fine as long as I pause when the pressure drops too low. Repeated cleanups have been pretty quick and easy, too, with only one clog when I didn't get enough varnish/thinner out of the front spray holes. Great price for a great product!
