Preassembled unit, easy to follow instructions, if you are technically oriented. I would not recommend this for the non-handyman due to the 220 voltages involved.

If you don't have a hard start kit on your condenser, this should prolong the compressor life at small cost.

I added this to a Goodman 4 ton unit that was having a hard time starting. I was drawing around 123 amps before adding this unit. After the install it now draws under 60 amps on startup. I saved around $250 by buying this and installing it myself vs. having the HVAC do it. Very happy with the product.

I have a old Rudd 10 Seer 4 ton , AC that has a listed LRA of 131 amps. Average start amps on the amp meter was around 120. After I installed the Compressor saver (u3 Model) the crank amps were consistently measured around 40 amps. I was amazed. I installed it so I could start the AC with my portable (12,000 watt -50amp generator). Before install the generator would not come close to starting the AC, after install the AC started easily and ran at about 18 amps. Also easy to install. Great Product would recommend to all.
