Buy Portable Air Compressor Cordless Now
Is a great tool, for inflating bike and car tires. Also for inflating floats for the pool. The coupling on the hose no longer holds on a valve stem, so after several years of service, I will buy another one; at Home Depot for about $50 LESS.Read Best Reviews of Portable Air Compressor Cordless Here
First off, I have used close to a dozen Ryobi One tools over the years and have been pleased with most of them. Not this time.I connected the high pressure valve to a water expansion tank and used the thumb lock to secure it. Air started leaking out of the valve even though it was shut. After removing the valve I noticed that the stem inside that pushes down when the thumb lock is engaged was not centered.
I then took the thumb lock apart and found that the plastic piece had cracked and created a hole next to the stem.
I returned it to Home Depot and got another one. I had the same issue with the second one. Note that I have used the valve from my bike foot pump on this same tank and it had no problem sealing and nothing cracked.
It seems to me Ryobi is using cheap materials in one of the locations where the largest amount of stress will occur. Bad design and material choice.
