Heavy duty stapler. Doesn't missfire. A box of 16,000 staples will run about $80-$100 as of 2012, but you can find them cheaper if you look for sales. Basically stapling will save time an money. Because you can use 3-4inch to 1-1/4inch crowns it gives you a wide variety of staples you can use. A box store will almost certainly carry a type the gun can use.If you are in an area with high winds, local building code may require special engineering. But with tar paper or housewrap... why bother with expensive caps and nails? The gun is also very light with a low clearance to get under overhangs.
Not sure if I would use staples for sheathing, but it would certainly be safer for any people that may be standing behind the sheathing as you fire. Nail guns are the leading cause of death on construction sites for that reason.
Hope that helps.Great product, would suggest checking local building codes before using for roofing, however, I love this stapler!! couldnt ask for a better gun!
