This little guy is kind of loud, but it has reason to call attention to itself. It's a great little compressor. It took it about four minutes to build up 80 psi in the reservoir from dead empty, allowing use pretty quickly. It kept up with the demand of tire filling and a pneumatic stapler with no problems. This is all I've used it for so far, but I have no reason to think it won't perform equally well with other tools. The regulator seemed like overkill for me and my uses, but it's a good thing to have if you're going to use it with a low pressure paint sprayer. The twin gauges show the tank and hose pressure, a handy reference. It also has an over-pressure release valve, a good safety feature. It's light and easy to carry around the house or job site. For the price, it's a much better deal that the 12 volt compressors as similar prices and claiming higher psi --but can't provide it. This is a solid little performer and I'm glad I chose it.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed. While I don't use the compressor a lot I have noticed that it steadily lost its ability to generate the pressure I did when new. As it sits now, I can't inflate my mobility scooter tires to the 30 psi they require, the compressor barely getting up to 20 psi. It will still operate my pneumatic tack driver, but won't operate any of the other tools and I wouldn't try to paint with it. I gave this five stars initially, but I have to knock it all the way down to a single star. Truthfully, I would recommend against anyone buying this compressor after seeing how such low and gentle use wore it out in no time at all. I got a message from Amazon saying that someone found my earlier comments useful, and I would hate to think anybody got taken because of my earlier review.

Epilog :The first compressor I received was DOA, so I returned it and Amazon had a replacement on the way the same day

I filled the RMA and it arrive in two days. I worked great for three months and then one day started to use it would not compress more than 5 lbs. I checked every thing and had followed all the instructions. Right before it failed it started

restarting, restarting, like it was loosing compression. Any way it is dead. It is not worth repairing. I will use what parts

are of use and rest goes to junk.

I just received my Rockford 1 Gallon Air Compressor and absolutely love it! The set-up was very easy (even for me being a female), and since this item includes all inflation accessories, it is ready to use right out of the box! Not to mention, it even has a storage compartment to keep all accessories in place and accounted for. I had difficulty getting all of the unions tight enough to prevent leaks. The compressor is not very powerful and takes a long time to come up to full pressure. Even then, the pressure doesn't stay up when using even a pin nailer! Totally unable to use as blower to clean out crevices, etc.
