This valve did not fit the application I had. It is not so much a device that controls the flow as it is a brass ball valve. It is difficult to control air flow when rotating the knurreled knob. Also there is no stop position to know that flow is cut off. Instead you can continue to rotate around going from full on to full off and then on again etc.

I bought this to replace a similar tool that had been borrowed from me--yeah, yeah, I know--because it had the rubber nozzle end for the blower. I really like having that soft end, and this unit also came with other attachments that made it seem like it was going to be wonderful. WRONG! When I attached it to the compressor, the rubber nozzle blew off the end and now it won't go back on securely. The threads on the various parts are stiff and tightening them makes you nervous because you feel like maybe they won't be able to be removed if you use the force necessary to attach them. Bad machine work is all that is. I usually think of Northern Industrial as a quality supplier. This piece gave them a black eye in my book.

The product is and works as advertised. Assembly consists of unscrewing the top from a 'toothpaste" type flexible tube and threading it onto the metal injector. You squeeze the tube to prime it and the grease gun works as stated. It delivers a measured amount of grease on each push with the palm of the hand into the fitting you have selected. A few drops (2-3) of the included oil goes into the inlet of the air tool about every thirty minutes depending on use of the tool, if you don't have an auto oiler.

Bear in mind that different air powered tools take different kinds of grease. Some have grease fittings and some don't. This grease is specific for my Ingersoll-Rand Tungsten ratchet which has two lubrication ports. My Chicago Pneumatic has no grease fittings.

Read the owner's manual or call the manufacturer to see what kind of grease, if any, is required and when. There are various kinds of grease for different tools, even within the Ingersoll-Rand tool lineup. I was all set to order from another site, but decided to call I-R. I am glad that I did. I would have ordered the wrong grease, even though the grease gun was the same. I-R told me exactly the kind and type of grease needed. I went to Amazon and they had it. If you use the wrong type of grease you can degrade the performance of the air tool or even damage it. Mine requires greasing every 48 hours of use. That can be a long time interval because the tool is used in short bursts amounting to seconds. I hope that whoever reads this finds it helpful.
