First off, this thing is heavy duty. It's basically a glass pack muffler for your intake on your compressor. I'm sure it's meant for industrial applications as the holes are 1-1/4". I bought this to quieten down my Husky 60gal compressor from Home Depot as it gets pretty loud. I spent about 15 minutes in the plumbing section of Home Depot with muffler in hand coming up with a mix of bushing, reducers, and pipe fittings to take the opening down to the 1/2" the compressor uses. Same thing for the tail end so I could thread the air filter back on as well. After all was assembled, I turned on the compressor to find that the noise level was easily reduced by half. You can actually talk to someone while standing next to it in a normal voice. This product is definitely worth the buy.
