I should say up front that prior to using this product I had never used a nail gun or an air compressor. As a newbie, it was very easy to setup and within 20 mins of opening the box, i was nailing my quarter rounder to the base board. Ive used each of the nail guns and they worked jam free. I'd definately recommend this to a friend.Read Best Reviews of Porter-Cable PCFP12234 3-Tool Combo Kit Here
Although I can't comment on the reliability of this kit since I've only used it a short time, I have been pleased with the performance so far. The nail guns have plenty of power to sink all recommended sizes of nails and staples into even the hardest wood. The compressor is loud, but no louder than comparable models. On the plus side, the compressor is only 30 lbs, which is 4 lbs lighter than some of the earlier models. Also, the compressor (Model C2002, Type 8) that came with my package does not require a break-in procedure, which some earlier models did. (The instructions with some models warn that a break-in procedure is "Mandatory". Not so with this model.)The only slight disappointment was that the nail guns don't come with a "Bump" feature that allows you to rapidly shoot nails by just holding the trigger and "bumping" the wood. I discovered that, for safety reasons, Porter Cable only ships the guns with the red trigger assembly, which indicates it is for sequential fire only and cannot fire in "bump" mode. You can order the black trigger assembly from Porter Cable if you want to convert to bump mode. It's an easy swap, but you have to wait to get the part from PC. I would have liked to see PC include the black trigger assembly (as an optional "accessory") with the package so that I could make the swap without having to order the part and wait for it to arrive.
All things considered, I'd recommend this combo kit to a fellow DIY'er.

The compressor is great Enough for small jobs. You can drive ~25 nails using the 16G finish nailer at 90 psi before the compressor cycles. More than enough for woodworking or jobs around the house. You could probably use an impact wrench for short bursts, but putting on a tire would probably require a few short breaks. It is noisy, but actually pretty good when compared to others that I have used. The nail guns and stapler are great. This is a slightly more expensive kit than the one Home Depot is selling, but these guns all have 1/2" extra throw than the cheaper kit, making it worthwhile for the added flexibility. 2 1/2" is nice to have when you want a nail to find a stud behind some drywall through shelving. The adjustment screws provide a wide rangelow enough for soft pine and hard enough for oak. The guns themselves have magnesium housings so they are really light, although most major brands have similar weights.
The packaging for shipment was pretty poor (due to Amazon, not Porter Cable). The manufacturers box was thrown in a bigger box with some paper padding, and it was banging around all over the place. Everything arrived fine, but this isn't normally the kind of quality packaging Amazon is known for. On a positive note, a 55lb package with free 2 day shipping from Amazon Prime is pretty awesome!Unit was well packaged and shipped as promised. Thank You to Amazon for that. This unit has worked well for me. I am not a contractor and for my needs it exceeded my expectations. The compressor is somewhat noisy when used inside. However, for the price, capacity and pressure produced I am satisfied. All three of the guns perform very well. I had no trouble adjusting the guns to seat flush or to countersink staples, brads or nails. I had a couple of jams when I first used the guns, but I believe that it was faulty technique as opposed to issues with the guns themselves. The unit is very portable. I did not think that the unit ran overly much considering I was driving a lot of staples in a hurry. Overall I think that the unit is a good product for the home handyman, and woodworker.
