Porter-Cable PCC583B 18-Volt Inflator (Tool Only, No Battery)

Porter-Cable PCC583B 18-Volt Inflator
  • Runs off an 18V Porter-Cable NiCad or Lithium-Ion Battery or your vehicle's 12V power adapter
  • High pressure inflation for vehicle tires, bike tires, footballs or basketballs
  • High volume inflation for recreational equipemnt like air matresses, rafts and pool toys
  • Can be used for deflation using the high volume deflation connection making storing items away easier and quicker
  • Automatic shut of feature shuts inflator off when required pressure is reached (needs to be set)

This is a great compressor. I need something I can use to air up my tires after airing down to go off-roading. It only took 5minutes to fill up my 31"x10.5" BFGoodrich all terrain tires from 22PSI to 37PSI. 5 minutes for 15 PSI means it will only take me 20 minutes to fill up all 4 tires after a day of off-roading. Since you can set the pump to shut off when the tire reaches a designated PSI you don't have to sit or squat by the compressor to keep an eye on the PSI, you can just set it and let it work until the jobs is done. When filling up the gauge will jump up and down by .5PSI, don't worry that's normal, it just means that the PSI is below X0.0 and above .5. The compressor is also quiet, it does not vibrate allot, and everything you need for it is on the unit itself.

This inflater is fast to air the tire. I previously have some 20 some bulks 12v inflaters, and they all took too much time to air the tire around 35 psi. This one is much quicker, and I think that it is almost as fast as the one in gas station.

The build quality is also better than other inflaters I used. The valve part is all mental, and this is the part that cheaper inflaters use plastic.

It is coming with needle to air sport balls.

It is also coming with accessories to air the air mattress or something alike.

I have porter cable 18v tools already, so the battery opreation brings lots of convinience. If you do not have porter cable batteries. Do not buy charger and battery alone, buy some porter cable tool set instead. You will find some tool sets are cheaper than you buy charger and battery indivdually. Research and caculating, and you will undertand what I mean.

Bought this item to inflate tires, water toys, boat fenders and in inflatable boat. Has done what I asked of it quite well. Good features include the easy conversion from high pressure to high flow because there are two separate hoses included and the ability to preset a desired pressure where the unit quits. I do wish it had a 110 volt option. I did not buy the battery pack or charger, but I do plan to decide if I need this portability later. The $40 purchase price is very reasonable, but the battery and charger add at least another $100 dollars unless you already have another PC tool with an 18 volt battery pack!

I really like the feature that lets you set the pump for the pressure you want then just turn it on and it stops automatically when it reaches the desired setting. This makes it very convenient for keeping the tires on my suv at the right pressure for optimum performance.

Keep in mind the the battery and charger are sold separately. In my case this isn't an issue because a few years ago I decided to standardize on the 18 volt Porter Cable tools so I already have three chargers and half a dozen batteries that came with other tools.

This is an impressive little unit. I bought it mainly for my Bicycle shop and it works GREAT for inflating hi pressure road bike tires in a flash. I also tried it on my Nissan Titan and with an 18V NiCad battery for operation I was able to inflate from 30psi to 40psi in about 1.5 2 min.not too shabby. The digital pressure gauge is pretty acurate as well, but keep in ming if you use the auto off feature, then the tire will likely be about 2psi short after inflation is completed. You can attempt to compensate by setting the cutoff limit a bit higher or you can inflate manually ofter th e cutoff, whichn is what I do.

am very happy with this and allmy Porter Cable 18V purchases. For a homeowner/hobbyist, you cant go wrong. If I were using my tools 8-12 hrs/day like many contractors, I may have looked for something a bit smaller, but I do know contractors who use PC tools day in and day out. They are really nice for the price.
