I got both a staple gun and these staples on Amazon. I had kitchen bar stools at the island that had seen better days. I found a BRILLIANT piece of fabric to re-cover the seats, so I set my plan in motion. Amazon was GREAT once again, 2 day free shipping for Prime ..... obviously didn't wait long for these items. I sat to recover the first stool seat, but found that about every 5th staple got jammed in the gun. So it would be 3 minutes to open, empty, and re-load the gun every time this happened. Of course, by the end of the first stool's minor repair, I was sick of the project, frustrated about the lack of stamina in the staple strip. I came back to do another about a day and a half later. (no, I wasn't that p*ssed off, I just got busy with other things) Sadly, I had the exact same issue the entire time I did the second one. It's been more than a month and I haven't attempted to do the 3rd (of 6!) stool. The staples are just too frustrating.

***let me add a side note here: before you think I am just some chick that didn't know what she was doing with a staple gun or a "tool", let me say that I am NOT an amateur! I have used SO many tools, even the big, scary, "manly" ones that make lots of noise, ;) so it was NOT lack of intelligence on the operators part. In fact, I have also had prior experience with staple guns before. I like to do the little projects around the house just as much as my husband. The staples sucked!! bottom line. don't know whether they were just ancient, being passed off to rid the inventory of another box, but I was disappointed that the strips didn't hold together well enough to complete such a simple task. I think about 1/3 of them were wasted in the process. In my eyes, that's a waste of time and money.

I used all 1,250 of these in the process of stapling 1,000 square feet of foil radiant barrier to the trusses in my attic. If this Porter Cable staple gun works for a very long time without breaking down, I will be most satisfied. I am building a boat and have a way to go.

The gun is very lightweight and easy to handle. It loads easily. I am using 5/8" staples. Press the release, slide the slide open, and load staples. Close the slide and allow it to snap shut. In front of the trigger a wheel allows the operator to set the staple deeper or shallower into the material, depending on use.

I purchased poly line separately and hooked up to a tiny compressor. After shooting ten or so staples the compressor turns on but manages to always keep up.

AUGUST 30, 2012 UPDATE:

After firing 21,000 staples, the gun broke. But to be fair with Porter Cable, I must add that I work with epoxies and use the gun to staple down plywood that has been epoxied. Therefore epoxy gets on and in the firing point of the gun. When purchasing a new stapler, I reordered the same Porter Cable gun on August 28th, 2012. That speaks better for my overall satisfaction, than anything.

Works very well at the prescribed air pressure. It never misses a lick. I use this gun every day building cabinets, jewelry boxes and other things. I have the 18ga brad nailer as well. The perfect pair in my little shop.

Porter Cable Crown Stapler is a great tool. You need an air compressor to operate, but the staples are easy to load and the tool has a good grip and a solid trigger button. Well worth the price.

I purchased the Rapid Air kit locally from a Rockler store, but needed to add additional outlets. I purchased these online via Amazon and they arrived in just a few days.

The kit is simple to install, and made plumbing my garage for compressed air an afternoon event. The blue hose can be difficult to manage (it comes curled up and has "memory" which despite spending 24 hours outside and stretched out, sprung right back). But if you use small clips and screw them to the wall every few feet, the installation goes very quickly. The connectors are easy to use just push the blue tube into the connections and you're done. No glue, tape, etc.

I bought this in a set that came with two outlets and I wanted one more so I purchased this single outlet. The outlets and the fittings are high quality and look great. The only issue with the deal is the poly tubing that is used in the system. It is a royal pain to run this stuff so it looks right. The tubing comes in a tight coil and it wants to remain in a tight coil. My system is all installed and it works great and so far is leak free. If you are short on patience, I wouldn't recommend this system.
