Coilhose Pneumatics 4214-ADJ Adjustable In-Line Pressure Regulator, 1/4-Inch

Coilhose Pneumatics 4214-ADJ Adjustable In-Line Pressure Regulator, 1/4-Inch
  • Adjustable from 50 to 145 PSI to meet various application requirements
  • Setting will not change due to vibration
  • In port screen helps filter our harmful debris before it reaches the tool
  • Compact and lightweight enough to become part of the tool
  • Brass body resists corrosion from exposure to moisture

I realize it is brass so it's a soft material. However after just doing a few adjustments trying to set the pressure the screw stripped out the brass threads. You have to get the torque just right as there is another vent hole on the opposite size of the screw under the black cap area. How tight you make the screw can affect the pressure through the regulator unit... Like I said, it's very finicky... I would recommend either getting a fixed pressure model or look for something else.

Makita MAC5200 Big Bore 3.0 HP Air Compressor

Makita MAC5200 Big Bore 3.0 HP Air Compressor
  • Folding handle: Low profile for easy storage with handle folded
  • Rugged wheels: Job-site portability; One-year manufacturer's warranty
  • Built-in storage compartment; Conveniently stores air fittings and accessories
  • Air hose wrap: Stores 50 feet of 3/8-inch air hose with handle folded or upright
  • 120V; 13.8 Amps and 1800 watts

I agree with the wheel gripes. The wheels are injection molded with a very thin plastic, one of mine had a slash in it and collapsed on first use.

So, I went up to farm and fleet and bought two new wheels with steel center and solid rubber, heavy tread, put them on and it is perfectly mobile over any terrain, now.

I also agree Makita fudges on the specs.

Most important though is the performance in use, and there, it shines. I've used similar double tank units from other manufacturers and much prefer the design of this unit. It stores connectors and a hose, handle breaks down for storage/transport, It is made very well and is quiet for a unit this size.

It does draw power on the initial kick on, as they all do. I'd hoped to run this on my Yamaha 2500 watt generator, which is equivelant to a 20 amp circuit, but no go. It blows the breaker everytime. And the Yamaha runs a portable DeWalt table saw, jet 1200cfm dust collector and a chop saw just fine (not all at the same time!)

So, while it is not perfect, it is a good performer and I'm very satisfied with the comressor at the cost.

Amazon's description describes this as running at 1720 RPM which is equal to Makita's MAC2400 product which runs at half this one's speed (and is quieter as a result).

NOTE THIS ITEM RUNS AT 3420 RPM AND HAS A SLIGHTLY LARGER BORE THAN THE MAC2400 SO EXPECT IT TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY LOUDER.

I purchased this tool in June, 2008. It arrived from Amazon in perfect condition. After the initial 'break-in' period I used it a few times for minor chores around the shop. No problems. The problems began when I took it outside. For a machine this heavy it has lousy plastic wheels which not only bent out of shape, the axle they ride on also bent. I am not abusive with my tools and take reasonable care when handling them. Also, one of the plastic gauge covers cracked. In addition, the plastic shroud that goes over the compressor rattles like crazy and probably makes twice as much noise as this machine needs to make. Simply an observation of mine of poor design. But the real problem was the way in which Makita service treats you when you need help. The parts to replace were simple to swap out, and relatively inexpensive. The service rep I spoke with wanted me to drive this compressor 60 miles each way to have an authorized service center look at them to determine whether they "really failed" or not. In the past if I had a problem with heavy equipment that was easily repaired at my end the parts would be shipped free of charge, assuming the item was under warranty (it is). The rep further argued with me that the wheels simply "wore out" from usage. I explained to him I hadn't used this tool for more than a total of 20 hours and that that was an unreasonable assumption regarding the wheels. His next argument was that "Makita only warrants the motor on these tools and the rest is up to me at my expense, to have repaired." Unbelievable. The warranty clearly states the entire tool is warranted for one year. Makita's have always made good tools in the past, but I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere if considering this tool, or any other from Makita. Their service center is abysmal. I can understand them not having the sharpest tacks handling the phone calls. But at least know your products and their respective warranties. No more Makita tools in this shop. This was a poor choice on my part.

I bought the Makita 5200 after I had read all the reviews, almost even before it was out of the box the wheels had been replaced (steel core, airtires).

As with all my Makita tools, I'm a happy camper, they perform when they need too.

I really like the storage compartment and the hose storage right on the unit.

Thanks to all who wrote reviews, you've helped to make the MAC5200 better, is anyone from Makita taking notice?

I do have a spare set of originals tires (no miles).

I purchased the MAC5200, after reading all the reviews including several very negative ones...

To offset those here is mine.

The shipment arrived in a pristine carton by UPS.

The compressor was pristine in every way not a scratch or blemish.

The unpack, setup and initial no pressure break in procedure took less that 30 minutes. The compressor performed flawlessly.

This compressor is SO much better and smaller than those I had in the past, I was shocked.

This lubricated 3hp is much quieter than my former unlubricated 2.5hp, and puts out more air at the higher pressures PSI.

For harry homeowner, it doesn't get much better than this.

It's compact, with sufficient space under cover to store fittings, gages, etc, four corner hooks to handle 50' of air hose and two front hook to hang either a second shorter hose or a couple of air tools.

Handle can be folded down, to put unit into a car trunk, or under a shop table and STILL BE FUNCTIONAL in the handle down mode.

I haven't tried all my tools with this compressor, but it did drive my biggest air hog with no problem at all.

Since my compressor will spend 95% of the time in my garage or nearby I don't anticipate any wheel breakage problem even though the wheels are plastic injection molded.

All things considered Price, Compressor output, built in features, compactness, portability and all controls including easy to use ball valve drain cock accessible from the front -this compressor delivered for ~ $300 is a very good buy.

I spent many hours of research on the net before I decided to order this nailer, I was very skeptical because of the price and the freight, being almost half of some other Brands. But after ordering on Sunday and receiving on Wednesday A.M. (extremely fast service at regular rate) I put it to work Wed. afternoon, and was totally amazed at the quality of the tool. I highly recommend this company's service and equipment. Because of the different colors I think this nailer must be made for BRAND name companies also..........

17.5 CFM 145 PSI TWIN CYLINDER AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP

17.5 CFM 145 PSI TWIN CYLINDER AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP
  • 5 to 5.5 HP motor
  • Rated pressure: 145 PSI
  • Pump speed: 655 RPM to 1050 RPM

Wasn't aware of how much TROUBLE I'd have hooking up the pump to our shop compressor.

Metric flare fittings OUT and made a major project out of trying to get the thing plumbed to our unit.

Left a phone message with the vendor (in So Cal) and never had so much as a return effort.

Would have appreciated a reply even if it was to indicate that we were "on our own".

Finally managed to get it "plugged in" after two weeks of parts shopping, $120 in fittings & pipe, and days of R&D and in house fabrication.

Just got it started today. Seems to be working but makes some knocking noises.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Wouldn't recommend it unless its a direct replacement of the same unit or similar with the same fittings.

Not sure who gave it 5 stars, must have been someone from there company. Metric flare output is impossible to find a fitting for. I ended up re-threading it. Once I got it going, it produced about 3 cfm. When I contacted the company they said that was not possible and hung up on me :)

WWT Group L-202E EZ Lug Lugnut Wrench

WWT Group L-202E EZ Lug Lugnut Wrench
  • 32:1 reduction ratio allows the tool to do all the work
  • Double socket design delivers the most leverage to loosen the tightest lug nut
  • Adjustable leverage set is compatable with most vehicles
  • Heavy-duty cast aluminum contruction
  • 3-inch extension kit can be used for custom wheels and extended hubs

I bought this lugnut wrench earlier this year in order to be prepared for my next flat tire, since lug nuts are now tightened by mechanics using air-compressor-driven wrenches, and I find it impossible to loosen them with a standard lug wrench. The first time I had a flat tire and needed to use this wrench--at night in a cold, relentless rain--the wrench's round, disk-like gearbox snapped in half.

I bought the EZ-lugnut to install my winter tires. I read the instructions and I proceed to remove the nut lugs, the first lug was removed fine, when I tried to remove the second one, the wrench snapped in half.

My next door neighbor is elderly and no longer drives. He gave me his EZ Lug Lugnut Wrench, still in its case and unused. I decided to rotate my tires myself and looked forward to not having to break the lug nuts loose by stomping on an arm of my regular X wrench.

The first two nuts broke free OK but on the third the device snapped in half. It was way past any warranty and the sales slip was long gone anyway, so there was no taking it back. As a gift it didn't cost me anything, so no big deal. I was impressed by the concept, however. If only the company had hired a professional engineer to calculate the stresses and design sufficient strength into it. I'm thankful I didn't invest the current going rate of $55 into this device.

I'm sold on the concept and found a heavier but much stronger (not aluminum) and smaller Pittsburg brand lug nut force multiplier for only $25 from Harbor Freight. It comes with an assortment of nut sockets, all in a small, black, zippered leatherette carrying case only 3" X 4" X 8" that fits easily into the dashboard glove box of my Toyota. It has a detachable crank and works like a champ.

Hope someone can benefit from my experience with the fragile and overpriced EZ.

Want WWT Group L-202E EZ Lug Lugnut Wrench Discount?

This product has many parts that are too light weight or thin to work properly. The first time i tryed to use the gear wrench the socket that fit over the lug nut to hold the torque bent and slipped off the lug nut. The wrench did not loosen the lug nut before slipping off.

The first time I used the wrench, the aluminum casing cracked in half. It appears that it cannot take extreme pressure when trying to loosen a very tight lugnut. This problem had been reported by other users as well. I received the wrench as a gift and tried to get the company (WWT Group)to replace it under warranty. They said No receipt, no replacement! This is an expensive tool, but cheaply made and is not backed up by the manufacturer/supplier.
