I thought I was going to have to buy a new air hose. These work great. I didn't want to be bitten by a hose clamp when I use my air hose, so I didn't install one like they recommend. I shoved the fitting in the hose. It was a very tight fit, and with the barbs on it, it's not coming off. Great price, great fit, fast shipping. I highly recommend these.

The product works as advertized. However, it did break after using on a roofing nailer at about 115 bundels of shingles. They just wear out. This is the only one I've ever used so don't know how it works againts another brands. Sure makes it eaiser then a straight connected hose.

I bought this item because I prepare fossils using compressed air and abrasives, and I need dry, clean air for the abrasive to flow through a very small nozzle without clogging up the nozzle. This 5 stage filter/dryer does everything I need it to do and more.

I would recommend this item to everyone, but it is heavy since it is made out of metal instead of plastic. Also, it is a bit awkward to remove the desiccant bowl to fill, empty, and refill. But, I love it anyway.

Solberg FS-06-038, Miniature Filter Silencer/Breather for Compressors & Blowers, 3/8" MPT,

This is the big brother of the 6 SCFM version (Solberg FS-04-038, Miniature Filter Silencer/Breather for Compressors & Blowers, 3/8" MPT, 6 SCFM). This one is rated at 8 SCFM and is physically bigger (wider and taller). Used it on a Dewalt D55146 (DEWALT D55146 4-1/2-Gallon 200-PSI Hand Carry Compressor with Wheels) and it fits and works very well.

What I like about this is the all metal contruction. There is a filter cartridge inside which is replaceable (costs a dollars from Grainger).

What I don't like about it is the *tapered* 3/8" male nipple. This is normally good but I could only get half of it to go in. So the thing stick out as though I forgot to tighten it.

In terms of noise reduction, it does no better nor worse than the OEM filter, which was plastic.

I bought this for use on my Dewalt D55155 compressor I bought of amazon a few years ago. The compressor is a powerhouse for such small size, and unfortunately makes quite a racket when its running. After reading the solberg website and some other reviews on the web I had high hopes that this little device might tame my compressor.

I swapped this in place of the small plastic filter on my compressor and fired it up, and was quite disappointed to find there was no noticeable difference in the loudness of the compressor.

My dewalt compressor is a direct drive oiled compressor which means both the motor and pump are running at the same high speed. I think this filter/silencer might be much better suited to belt driven compressors where the pump is run at lower speeds.

For my application I'd give this product a 1 star rating as a silencer. On the other hand the filter aspects of it seem quite high quality and I'd happily give 5 stars to. But since I bought this product specifically for its silencer claim, I feel I can only give it 2 stars overall.

Well worth the money, they are soo hard to find. Sears charges more for the same filter. I'll but again from Amozon.

I just finished installing my Onboard Air and love this setup. It took me a couple of days to get it installed since I had to make custom brackets to install the Air Compressor in my tool box. I also ran an extra kill switch that Viair recommended to kill the A/C in case there was a leak in the system. This took a few more wires and a 40 amp switch.
