Campbell Hausfeld VH6111 15 Amp 3 Horsepower 60 Gallon Oiled Stationary Vertical Compressor

Campbell Hausfeld VH6111 15 Amp 3 Horsepower 60 Gallon Oiled Stationary Vertical Compressor
  • Solid Cast Iron twin cylinder pump for longer life
  • Durable 60 gallon ASME code tank
  • Powerful 230 Volt motor
  • Reliable CAST IRON oil-lubricated pump

I recently purchased this compressor and couldn't be happier. It performs extremely well (it's a compressor what's to not work). Shipping was a great experience (shouldn't reflect opinions of the product anyway), timely service and it arrived in perfect condition.

This compressor is a major step up from my previous one. It's quiet though you can feel a minor vibration in the floor from the pistons in the compressor thumping along. That will be corrected when I finalize it's position in the shop and mount it. I may use some rubber grommets to isolate it a bit more, I'm not sure that it really needs it though. More than likely just bolting it down should minimize the vibration.

The compressor fills the tank quickly and I haven't had to adjust the cutoff swith as it came set correctly from the factory.

I'd buy it again no problem.....

I took a chance, ordering this compressor from Amazon. Price was right and I _thought_ Campbell Hausfeld was a quality brand. The process of ordering from Amazon was straight forward. But the compressor was damaged when delivered. An air filter was crushed. Amazon doesn't handle part replacements, so I had the choice of shipping it back to them for a replacement (300lb compressor on a pallet) or they would refund me the cost of purchasing the replacement air filter. I chose that, but then after running the compressor for less than an hour, the electric motor blew up. It makes a horendous screetching noise when running. But unfortunately since it's past 30 days, I have to deal with the manufacturer (no credit for the time spent waiting for the damaged filter element, which prevented the unit from being run). All in all, I'm receiving fairly poor service on what appears to be total junk.

lesson learned, should've gone to a local tool supplier.

GoodYear 047 1/2-Inch x 50-Foot Rubber Industrial Hose - Red

GoodYear 047 1/2-Inch x 50-Foot Rubber Industrial Hose - Red
  • 1/2 inch x 50 feet, 200PSI
  • Oil-resistant
  • Can be used in all temperatures
  • Includes male brass ferrules and barbed fittings
  • Made in USA

As the previous review stated, this hose is overkill for everyday applications, such as connecting air nailers, sanders and such to the source. I use this hose to move large volumes of air from my compressor to my regulator on the jobsite to minimize pressure drop and supply the maximum amount of air to the multiple tools connected to the regulator. That being said, if you are only going to attach tools directly to a compressor, buy the 3/8" which is lighter weight, easier to manuver and less costly. Given the size, the hose is slightly heavy to attach to a framing nailer and a little cumbersome to wrap up at the end of the day.

UPDATE JULY 2010: Hose is still working great. No leaks. Now my oldest hose by far and used frequently.

This 50' hose is perfect for my purposes, and was priced well below what local retailers were asking. I was advised to stay away from "no-name" brands, and this hose carries the GoodYear name at a great price.

Great hose as reviewed by others.

It has 3/8" threads which is not mentioned.

I thought it would have 1/2 inch threads but

still fine for my usage.

I should have read the reviews, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I didnt know that the ends are 3/8 and not 1/2" I ordered all of my fittings for that size and now I cant use them. my mistake but it should have something in description.

It flexes and stretches, but never kinks or breaks. It is a good hose and I am very pleased with it.

Milton 715BK M Style Quick Coupler: 1/4-Inch Female Coupler

Milton 715BK M Style Quick Coupler: 1/4-Inch Female Coupler
  • Hardened steel balls
  • Stainless-steel springs
  • Heat-treated and plated
  • Made in the USA

This is the fitting you'll need on a 3/8" air hose with 1/4" NPT fittings. Milton M-Type coupler plugs are designed to fit this quick connect. This doesn't leak under pressure and requires no lubrication. Assuming you still have all the fingers on one hand, this is easy to operate; hold the ring back with your thumb and forefinger while gripping the hose with your other three fingers. Slip the plug in or out and let the ring go. A small burst of air is normal. This is another quality, made in USA product from Milton. They are the best.

MILTON BY FAR MAKES THE BEST COUPLERS OUT THERE. FIRST I FOUND THEM HARD TO FIND.SECONDLY THE PRICE IS THE SAME AS THOSE INFERIOR BRANDS..JUST USE ALITTLE TEFLON TAPE ON YOUR MALE END PLUGS AND YOUR READY TO GO.YOU'LL FIND YOUR COMPRESSOR DOESNT GO ON AS MUCH, SINCE YOU HAVE (NO MORE AIR LEAKS)...........

I did not realize that there really is a difference in quick connects.

I just upgraded to a 60 gallon Ingersol Rand compressor so I changed out a number of items that I was using with my old 20 gallon compressor. Initially (when I bought the 20 gallon comp) I had gone to my local Home Depot and picked up some of the fittings and couplers I would need. They served well until the upgrade. Reading some of the reviews for Milton I thought I would try their fittings and couplers. After they arrived I put a male connection onto one of my new spray guns and then connected the hose (with the Home Depot coupler). Didn't work! The old coupler wouldn't accept this Milton. Surprise, surprise!

So, since I had purchased an additional male and female coupler, I changed the old one out to the new. Worked fine as should be expected since they are now both Milton. Funny thing is, I still had a few air tools laying around with the older style (Home Depot) fittings attached and the Milton would accept them with no problem.

Now for the good part. . . .I looked down the barrel of the Milton fittings along side the HD fittings and the inside diameter of the Milton is larger than the Home Depot fittings! Another surprise. I just thought all fittings (3/8") would be the same. I now know better and the Milton is a MUCH BETTER choice.

Good deal on these couplers. I shopped around and this was the best price for the quality.

The Milton connectors are premium connectors and much better than the cheap Chinese imports. These do not leak air so I can keep my compressor on all the time and not have it cycle on and off.

3/8" Female Thread Tube Connector Air Compressor Check Valve Gold Tone

3/8' Female Thread Tube Connector Air Compressor Check Valve Gold Tone
  • Product Name: Air Compressor Check Valve
  • Color: Gold Tone; Material: Metal & Brass
  • Male Thread: 16mm/ 5/8", 20mm/ 3/4"; Female Thread: 9.5mm/ 3/8"
  • Hex Head Size: 18mm/ 11/16"; Total Size: 42 x 39 x 32mm/ 1.65" x 1.54" x 1.26" (L*W*T)
  • Package: 1 x Air Compressor Check Valve

This worked perfectly for my Central Pneumatic, model 40400, air compressor. The original check valve was made of pot metal and only lasted a few years until it actually fell to pieces. Harbor Freight was not very helpful in finding a replacement. It is great to have it working again even though I only use it a few times a month.

When I broke this piece on my Harbor Freight air compressor I thought I was going to have to buy a new compressor. I went to all the local companies that work on air compressors and they told me I was out of luck.

So I jumped out on Amazon and while I was looking for air compressors I decided to do a quick search for parts and found this. It was a great price & qualified for Prime so I thought I'd try it.

It worked perfect and my air compressor is holding pressure better than it ever has before. I highly recommend this part if you have a broken or leaky one.

My compressor check valve broke under intense heat, and I bought this item from Amazon.com, and it fit the application perfectly.

It has been a few months now, and I have been very happy with this purchase. I bought this for a 8 gallon tank a part of 2 HP compressor from Harborfreight tools that had an original cheap looking valve.

BUT is super cheaply made. casting is pretty crappy. it works, but was a bear to get threads to match and near impossible to position just right due to crappy threads, but, again, it worked and my compressor has been resurrected.
