Reelcraft 5650 OLP 3/8-Inch by 50-Feet Spring Driven Hose Reel for Air/Water

Reelcraft 5650 OLP 3/8-Inch by 50-Feet Spring Driven Hose Reel for Air/Water
  • Quiet speed latch mechanism
  • Full flow shaft and swivel
  • Multi-positional guide arm
  • Baked-on powder coat paint
  • Made from heavy gauge industrial steel

The reelcraft works just like it is suppose to BUT THERE WERE SOME SHIPPING ISSUES FROM UPS AND REELCRAFT.

1-THE FIRST UNIT/HOSE REEL WAS BENT UP!!! THE BOX HAD HOLES IN IT AND THE UNIT INSIDE WAS BENT UP SO I SENT IT BACK. NO ISSUES THERE WITH THE RETURN THAT WAS EASY.

2-THE SECOND UNIT/HOSE REEL WAS LOOKING OK FROM THE OUTSIDE FOR THE OUTER BOX INSPECTION SO I ACCEPTED IT,,,

AFTER UNPACKING THE UNIT I FOUND THE 2ND UNIT WAS ALSO DAMAGED THIS TIME BY REELCRAFT NOT UPS YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE THE RED PAINT INSIDE THE BOX WHERE REELCRAFTS PACKING DEPARTMENT HAS VERY ROUGH HANDELING PRACTICES WHEN PACKING THE UNIT.

THE DAMAGE THIS TIME WAS ON THE SIDE PLATE AND IT WAS BENT OVER JUST LIKE INSIDE THE BOX WHITNESS MARKS SHOWED. ANYWAY I HAD TO STRAIGHTEN THE BENT UP UNIT SO IT WOULD SPIN/REEL OUT AND RETRACT BACK IN WITHOUT BINDING UP.

IN CLOSING THE UNITS WORKS FINE NOW BUT REELCRAFT AND UPS HANDELING DEPARTMENTS NEED TO BE INFORMED.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

This $230 Reelcraft hose reel isn't as user friendly as another manufacturer's reel of the same size that I own, which I will add was purchased at only a third the price. Surprising, the Reelcraft reel wobbles on the wall, and unfortunately, sometimes sticks when retracting the hose. This is a replacement to a defective Reelcraft that I originally purchased that had a plastic part that broke before it came out of the box, so I decided to move up to the "premium" model. This Reelcraft model only adjusts to two positions, but if only Reelcraft had drilled two extra holes in the reel mount, could have made this where it would adjust to a multitude of positions. FYI... both positions were not ideal for vertical mounting on the wall at my location, so I am not too happy with it but not terribly upset either. Base is narrow and could have used a couple more steel reinforcing ribs in the mounting frame, which likely would stop the wobble/bounce of the reel. Anyway, I decided to keep this one because it was such a pain to get mounted in the location installed and removal is just as painful, so ....
