Stanley Bostitch HP118K 23-Gauge 1/2-Inch to 1-3/16-Inch Pin Nailer

Stanley Bostitch HP118K 23-Gauge 1/2-Inch to 1-3/16-Inch Pin Nailer
  • 1/2-inch to 1-3/16-inch 23-gauge pin nailer; low-profile nose-piece tapers for clear site
  • Adjustable high/lower power switch for depth control and longer life
  • Lightweight and durable aluminum housing
  • Includes nailer, oil, abrasive, and kit box
  • 7.81 by 9.06 by 1.6 inches; 2.3 pounds; 7-year limited warranty

Yes , there is a problem with driving 1 3/16" pins but Bostitch will send you an easy fix, a new driver/piston. I am surprised that no one called them and posted this . I always contact the manufacturer with any issues first, some are very helpful and others are not. Great CS from them, as I always have had from them, and an other wise very well made compact driver now will work just fine. As far as using 2"pins, they are too long for this gauge in real wood[18 ga.2"brads is even pushing it] ;they bend easily and can "blowout" of the wood[follow the grain] when using to be really useful anyway but the 1 3/16" is perfect for shoe base mld. for flooring installs and no filler is really needed. 1" pin guns limits the usefulness as other brands have as their longest length. 4 stars for the tool as is, and add 1 star for Bostitch being there to fix their problem making the gun excellent now.

Just returned mine and ordered a Grex 635 instead. I fired about 40 pins in hard and soft wood, tried various compressor pressure settings, and various settings of the so-called "depth control." The gun jammed once. If the air pressure is at the low end of the recommended range (70-100 lbs.), or if the so-called "depth control" is set low, pins will usually be proud of the surface. With the proper adjustments the best you can do is get them to be flush, which is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. According to Bostitch Customer Service, this pin nailer is not designed to countersink pins, but rather to leave them flush with the service. The "depth control" is a misleading name for what is really just another way of adjusting air pressure. It does NOT change the travel distance of the pin.

shot up many a clip of pins over the past week on a kitchen with cherry cabinets and trim. guns of this ilk are absolutely invaluable in delicate/intricate hardwood production work, from temporary jigging to glue up clamping to achieving the perfect miter. but this gun drove me up the wall and forced the guy coming behind me with the markers and putty to take his artistry to a new level. almost every pin stood proud, long grain shots and end grain. if it wasn't proud there was the slightest dent from the gun nose and the pin was still didn't countersink. when trimming in standard fjp this gun is a godsend, but for hardwood work you had better invest in a microscopic nailset(alien technology, coming soon) if bostitch hasn't decided to include one in the case already

...to follow up, this pinner is but a continuing let down. production installation of hardwood is the name, having the pin hold the pieces is but half the game. the many, the proud. i have a quick learning curve, now i've got a grex.

I just received this nailer about a week ago and have put it to work everyday. The first time I used it I noticed it would only drive the pins flush which makes the tool useless. The pins wouldn't even countersink in pine. I decided to grind the tip down a little hoping that it would allow the driver to make the pin go well below the wood. I'm sure Stanley wouldn't recommend this, but it did the job and now my pins go just the right depth in any wood that I use it on. Besides this minor problem everything else is perfect with tool including the case.

I was excited to purchase this nailer based on its ability to drive pins in excess of 1 inch. When it arrived I was pleased with the construction of the unit, very well made in the true Bostitch tradition. Upon immediately firing up my compressor to see what the unit will do, I was disappointed to see that it had a problem driving the 1 3/16 inch pins all the way into hardwood, in this case red oak. I tried different settings and even with the PSI set to max the pins would not countersink. I had to use a nail punch to finish the job, which is counter intuitive to why you would use a pin nailer to begin with. Other than that the nailer performs flawlessly, never jamming, etc. And by the way, the 1 3/6 pins are tough to come by. I have not seen them in any of my local home improvement or hardware stores. They are available through Amazon however, so you can stock up there.

I needed a t-handle regulator, with gauge for my garage compressor, and new air lines that I installed. This worked perfectly, and is very well built. Nothing like the cheap units you'd find ON the compressor itself. Cost of this unit also was very good, in comparison to some of them I see listed.

To say this gun is a piece of junk is giving it too much credit. The spray nozzle is frozen or does not come off the gun which makes the extra nozzle kit useless. To be precise this gun is a cheap imitation of a piece of junk. Save your money because its not worth the postage to return which is what they depend on to sell crap like this.

The price is right. stay with the breakdown instructions, as you clean up, to keep the order of reassembly.

Be sure to have the drain plugged in the wash basin, to keep the small parts.

Only would have liked more thorough guidance on how to adjust for solid stain spraying and polyurethane spraying.

Once I found the sweet spot and had it tuned right , I sprayed an entire 14' X 12' deck with rails in 35 minutes.

Need to buy a water filter approx $5. Four to four and one half stars!

Maxair C5160V1-MAP 60-Gallon 170 PSI Max Electric Stationary Compressor

Maxair C5160V1-MAP 60-Gallon 170 PSI Max Electric Stationary Compressor
  • 5HP electric motor
  • Extended drain at base
  • 18.5 CFM at 100 PSI
  • 60-gallon vertical tank
  • Heavy duty belt guard; high performance

I had a similar sized Puma which lasted for about 16 years, but needed repairs occasionally and eventually wound up developing a crack in the top of the tank. This one has higher pressure and more CFMs, and a much heavier duty pressure switch. I had to replace the undersized pressure switch on my Puma twice. The motor is huge and looks about 50% bigger than the one on my Puma. The compressor runs a little quieter and seems to run a lot cooler. It seems really solidly built and well thought out. The tank has a higher pressure rating. It has a really convenient extended drain valve that's easy to reach right at the lower front of the tank, rather than underneath the tank. It has cast iron cylinders, three separate air filters, copper finned copper tubes where the compressor feeds into the tank to help cool down the air before it gets into the tank, and a big fan/flywheel. The oil level site glass on the pump is easy to see, and the oil fill is in a convenient location. It has a nice large liquid filled pressure gauge that holds steady and is located for easy visibility. The pressure switch is on the side, where it's easier to get to and easier to wire up. The air coming out of it is nice and dry, with no oil blow-by from the compressor. I wanted something that will be really reliable and put out enough pressure to run all of the tools I use. The old Puma was almost good enough, but I think this one will be perfect.

I use this fairly often for, painting, bead blasting, air tools, cutting tools, plasma cutter, etc. Works like a champ so far, and I'm really happy with it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to pay a little more for a good quality compressor.

One more thing I like about it is the three feet it has instead of four like some other brands. The feet have slotted holes, so your holes can be slightly off in alignment from the holes you drill in the concrete and it will still work. I think you definitely want to bolt it down. It's very top heavy and needs to be bolted securely to the ground. I have mine on a 6" thick slab with a little home-made wood shed around it which I located out behind my garage. I used three 3/8" "drop in anchors" to bolt it down, but you could probably use 1/2" too if you wanted to.

There isn't much mention of size or exact fitting type in the description.

This one is too short to fit into a standard industrial type quick connect.

The only thing I could get it to fit into is the connect on my Makita MAC700 compressor, I'm not sure what type it is, but it fits everything I have.

Anyway this didn't work with the 4 or so different types of Industrial NPT quick connects that I bought on amazon and at home depot.

Interstate Pneumatics SA9M 4 Inch Diameter -1/2 Inch MPT Metal Body Compressor Air Intake Filter wit

Interstate Pneumatics SA9M 4 Inch Diameter -1/2 Inch MPT Metal Body Compressor Air Intake Filter with Paper Cartridge
  • Greater durability than other filters in the market
  • Designed for use with most of the brand compressors
  • Filtration Efficiency Over 99%

It was a good price but it needed work to function. The filter is not tall enough to seal in the housing. When the cover is installed and tightened it hangs up on the inlet tube on one side. to let the cover sit flat and seal on the filter I had to cut a notch in the cover.

GoodYear 045 3/8-Inch-by-50-Feet Safety Yellow Rubber Hose 3/8 -Inch by 50-Feet 250 PSI With 1/4-Inc

GoodYear 045 3/8-Inch-by-50-Feet Safety Yellow Rubber Hose 3/8 -Inch by 50-Feet 250 PSI With 1/4-Inch Ends
  • Made of heavy-duty reinforced rubber for durability
  • Equipped with an oil- and abrasion-resistant tube
  • Hose measures 3/8 inch by 50 feet
  • Includes ferrules and fittings
  • Made in the U.S.A.

The advantage to this Goodyear hose is that it is made out of industrial grade rubber instead of vinyl. What that means is that when you are using it instead of being stiff like vinyl it remains soft and flexible, so it lays flat on the floor. This is especially a problem in colder temperatures. It's great for coiling as well, it doesn't fight you.

The real frustration of using a vinyl hose is that it can stand up while moving across the floor, high enough to snag on things, or even pull something onto the floor. The hose is in a coil, then instead of simply uncoiling, the vinyl has a memory and wants to look more like hoops moving over the floor.

This hose comes in 3/8" which is the most popular size. The 1/4" hoses restrict air flow, which is especially important over a 50 foot run.

All in all highly recommended. The advantages are worth it even if it was twice the price.

Having used just about every type of air hose on the market, I can say the yellow Goodyear hose is second to none. It is very durable and stands up to the wear and tear of jobsite use. The coupler ends maintain excellent wear and far outlast other less durable hoses.

I bought this air hose under the impression it was a genuine goodyear air hose. It's not; it's a knockoff. The hose may or may not work fine, but it's not a goodyear hose. This is a genuine goodyear air hose. This was confirmed by the manufacturer of the real hoses; see hobbler's 1 star review and check the comments.

I didn't suspect much until I got the hose and noticed a couple of things. Though it seems to be hit or miss, the fittings on mine were mis-threaded as well. I tried to attach this hose to a hose reel and the fitting was very difficult to thread and only went on a few turns before not being able to go any further, even with a wrench. Also, the hose itself did NOT have the Mit diamond trademark signifying a genuine goodyear hose, and the goodyear markings that are there were put on sloppily and were starting to rub off.

Like I said, the hose may or may not work fine; I couldn't get mine threaded to even try it so 1 star. Others seem happy with it, and that's great, but I don't like to be duped. Don't sell me a harbor freight hose at goodyear prices. The genuine goodyear hose is only eight bucks more so I bought one of those and this one is en router back to amazon for a refund.

Amazon needs to get on the ball with these counterfeit items. I had a similar experience with a belkin USB cable, where it was supposed to be belkin, yet the cable was absolute garbage, extremely generic and anorexicly thin.

A cheap airhose (made from PVC, usually) is a pain. They stay coiled when you uncoil them, and stay straight when you coil them. A high quality rubber hose makes a huge difference. It sounds trivial, but it really makes managing hoses easier. When I'm in the shop, or out on a job I want to be able to run the hose out quickly, and coil it neatly when I'm done. A high quality rubber hose like this one makes it easy.

My Goodyear hoses have been in service for a long time and are tough enough to last for many more years.

I also appriaciate the fact that it's made in the USA.

One extra tip lay out your hose, then connect it to the tank. If you connect it to the tank when it's coiled, it'll fill with air and be harder to uncoil.

I recently puchased one of these 50' hoses for my new DeWalt twin tank air compressor. This is by far the best 50' hose on the market today without question. It remains totally flexible in cold temperatures unlike those vinyl coiled hoses on the market. It also lays flat when in use and does not coil up in places. You don't have to worry about tripping over this hose. The couplings at each end of the hose are very high quality and the yellow color is very noticeable to keep others from snagging the hose and tripping on it. The 50' lenght is perfect to allow you to move about freely and not relocate your compressor often. This is a great product and the price is right. Get one of these. You will be glad you did.

Sharpe 6760 DryAire Dessicant Air Filter System

Sharpe 6760 DryAire Dessicant Air Filter System
  • System maintains a -40deg F dew point while achieving 0% compressed air humidity
  • Coalescer that removes oil and sub-micron particles down to .01 microns
  • Provides maximum filtration capacity of 30 CFM @ 175 PSI
  • Silica gel provides maximum moisture absorption with easy desiccant changeout
  • Dessicant can be regenerated or replaced

This product shipped in a beautiful styro molded box. Arrived in great shape. It's mounted on the wall, hooked up, and keeps the air and oil from the air supply going to my equipment as advertised. The one thing that I wish they did differently is the bracket that holds this to the wall is a little flimsy. The three canisters with all the fittings are a little heavy for the tiny bracket around the center canister. I had to add an additional strap support twixt the large right canister and the regulator to keep it from listing to starboard.

Also, it would be nice to have a filter wrench thrown in so you can access the contents when necessary.

Other than these little nags the product is sturdy, well built and I expect to get years of use from it.

Buy Sharpe 6760 DryAire Dessicant Air Filter System Now

I needed this for application of a special firearm finish. It was recommended to me by my local paint supply store, who also uses it, and I got it here for a lot less than $700 they were asking at the shop. 3-stage filter, cleans /very/ easily. All it takes is some elbow grease to unscrew the canisters and give them a quick shake and a drying out once a week or so. Extremely user friendly.

The added regulator on the end has two 1/4" NPT outlets that are great for hooking up extra hoseI run one to my paint gun and one to my sandblasting cabinet. The screw-valve is a pain to back in and out, but you can control pressure nearly to the pound, up from 5 to 120 PSI. I've run it for two months now without so much as a hiccough.

Don't use this by itselfyou still need a good 15' of iron pipe to let the air cool and condense. If you try and run this straight from your compressor, especially for extended periods, you'll have to empty out the big canister and de-hydrate your dessicant beads. Which, again, not terribly difficult, but you might as well prolong their life as much as possible.

I would buy this again, without hesitation. It's definitely worth the extra money to make sure you've got the right equipment for the job. Scrimping and getting one of the cheaper single-stage ones will end up costing you more in the long run due to water and oil content in your end product.

Over the years I've had to replace the trigger mechanism and directional buttons but that's about it. $20 or so in parts and this gun is still running strong.

My only complaint is that my anvil is starting to wear out and barely holds on to sockets anymore. I guess that's what happens when you use a 3/8" impact to do the job of a 1/2".

Naively, I purchased this product based on the price and the raving reviews it was getting. The "specifications" leave a lot to be desired. One review even says this product welds ¼" with no problem. I thought "what the heck" since it was only $106. Well let me tell you, this won't weld ¼", it won't even weld 1/8". I rated it a 3 because I did not test lighter gauge metals since that is not my need. It might work great on those, I just don't know. This review is basically for the misleading reviews Amazon has for this product.

I didn't have expectations that this was going to be the most awesome welder I ever owned. I didn't plan to build giant robots and take over the world. I did however expect that it would be able to make an arc. It failed to do that.

When you flip the power switch you can hear it "Clunk" letting you know there is some juice, but there is no "on" light so if you wander off and leave it no one will know.

Clamp the lead to my piece of thin steel tubing, touch the stick to the joint. Nothing. Sand the spot where I am clamping too. Reclamp. Nothing.

Maybe my steel is not conductive enough. Grab some sheet steel clamp to that, just touch the stick to it to see that I get a spark. Nothing.

Swap sticks. Nothing.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It sucks. It is Sunday so I don't know if i can return it. That won't change my rating but will make me less annoyed.

Grex P635 23 Gauge 1-3/8-Inch Length Headless Pinner

Grex P635 23 Gauge 1-3/8-Inch Length Headless Pinner
  • Powerful motor penetrates fasteners through the hardest materials
  • Shoots fasteners up to 1-3/8-inch length easily, even-inch hardwoods
  • Patented design eliminates need to adjust for different fastener lengths
  • Double trigger safety prevents accidental firing of tool
  • Narrow nose reaches tight areas and corners for detailed trim work

I am simply amazed by this pinner. I have used many others with less features and the Grex p635 is a hands down winner. Few manufacturers offer a 23ga pinner as versatile as the P635 with the capability to shoot 3/8 to 1 3/8 pins and self adjusting to boot. No splitting of crown or delicate hardwood mouldings even within 1/8" of an end mitre. I have pretty much retired my 18ga brad nailer for high end trim in leu of the Grex P635. I am impressed with the holding power of the 23 ga pins in hardwood crown on cabinet installs. As a professional wood worker I highly recommend this pinner.

I was introduced to this nail gun at my last job. Now that I am in business for myself, I had to get one. I have used the Senco and the Grex 23g micro pinners. The Sencos that we had at the shop hardly ever worked properly. They weren't self-adjusting, so changing nail lengths was a pain. And, the nail heads almost always stayed above the surface of the material. The Grex, however is self adjusting, and goes all the way from 1/4" to 1 3/8" nail lengths. Even in the hardest wood it always sinks the heads. The only time it hasn't was when I was shooting into maple at a harsh angle, or when the compressor didn't come back on and there wasn't enough pressure. Also, I have had the gun for 2 months and used it almost every work day since then, and I have only had one minor jam. Plus, just the fact that you don't have to fill every nail hole with putty makes this tool a life saver.

I purchased Senco, Porta-Cable, Bostitch, Omer, and Grex. Grex by far is the best! It doesn't jam, or break down. Very reliable and saves me money over the long run from not repairing it every week. Before the P635 my porta-cable and omer both gave me the biggest problems. The Grex gets into the corners and doesn't leave a mark into the finished product. I have owned them for 2 years and now getting one for my father. Also, I have been burned by the big auction web site(won't name names)trying to buy this tool.

Want Grex P635 23 Gauge 1-3/8-Inch Length Headless Pinner Discount?

(see revision below) I wasn't led astray by others who raved about this 23 gauge pinner. It saved the day as far as doing an intricate exterior Ipe handrail with polyurethane glue. No other brad or nailer would work except my old Senco 1/2 thru 3/4 inch pinner and it leaked and didn't have the power of this new one. With no time to use small screws and countersinks nor tenoning, I found that using toe nailed 23 guage pins with polyurethane glue really held together this hard-as-nails exterior hardwood.

The only small problem was when adding a new shank of pins to a nearly empty gun.. that when the previous shank was used up the new shank due to the smallest misalignment wouldn't pin.. .not a biggy..It just meant one had to very carefully load the pinner and make sure the same size of pins was in-line with the prior shank of pins. Very hard to tell if the gun is firing or not. But minor concerns with such a Great Tool! It's very powerful judging at the strength of penetration into a wood (Ipe) that is very close to being the hardest of woods. 18 guage would shatter and split the wood and only my battery actuated Dewalt 16 guage gun would consistantly penetrate but only at a right angle and with occasional splitting. Only 23 guage pins would toe nail w/o bouncing off.

Someone described this as the "Lexus of pinners". Seems very true. Also the extra finger safety 'flipper' was annoying and my helper just taped it to the handle as we found that it was more likely to accidently fire with the intricacy of manipulating the safety on than having it taped off (down). Works now very well. No hitches. Comes with the usual leaky bottle of oil..but not even one pin in the box. Make sure you order some if you don't have 'em when ordering this gun.

after a month or so...revised review. Now the Grex no longer shoots pin to the surface...pins are proud a good 1/16. Opened it up and the first part of the pin driver is shattered. Thus needing a new piston pin, Amazon does carry it. But was the wood too hard (Ipe) on the pinner or is it just a bad design? Remember my old Senco still shoots pins but only is a half through three quarter pinner. I'd have to demote Grex to two stars. The pin driver seems only meant for softer woods. Need to find paperwork as no local dealer sells Grex or contact manufacturer.

After asking around on woodnet i found that this one is the only one that does not leave a small dent from the driving pin( at least in this price range)

the one drawback to all of these micro pinners is that you cant control the depth of the pin

it will never go more than about a 32nd into the wood

not quite enough for filler

Winterize RV, Motorhome, Camper, and Travel Trailer Blow Out Adapter: Air Compressor to Male Garden

Winterize RV, Motorhome, Camper, and Travel Trailer Blow Out Adapter: Air Compressor to Male Garden Hose Faucet with Valve
  • Adaptor with valve to winterize your RV, motorhome, camper, and travel trailer
  • Pre-assembled length: 11 inches approx. Pressure rating: 250 psi with 4:1 safety factor
  • 100% outdoor rated, virtually indestructible, impervious to water and oil
  • All metal parts are brass. Hose is 3/8" ID Goodyear Insta-Grip. Assembled in Andover, Kansas, USA.
  • SUPER FAST SHIPPING! ALL ORDERS ARE SHIPPED BY USPS WITHIN 24 HOURS.

I could have gotten by with the short, simple, cheap attachments but am glad I bought this. It is handy to be able to turn the valve on and off while adjusting and changing things around in the winterizing process. I did not need the extra length of the hose but like that it takes the stress off of the city water connection on my trailer. The short attachments would place direct vertical weight from the heavy duty compressor hose on the trailer connection.

It is well made.

With this you can leave the air compressor on and connect it to the city water inlet and then go around opening all the faucets etc inside to tell when all the water is out.

I like it because the wife doessn't have the patience to do one of these jobs so it comes down to a one person job. That is me!

I have used this to blow out pressure washers/hoses etc for the winter, and to winterize the motorhome. It works really well especially because it has a built in valve, so you can crank your compressor up, and just open the valve as much as needed. Seems really well made with quality parts. Built in Quick connect makes it especially easy to use with your compressor.

I would recomend to anyone needing to get water out of their lines on a camper. Works great, love it!

I got this for our RV this year and it really did help when we had to blow the water out of the lines for winterizing. My husband it saved alot of time and trouble and he could do it himself instead of needing someone else to be there.

I bought this saw about a month ago and I love that it is so light compared to the Milwaukee saws. I am normally a Milwaukee guy , but I wanted to try a different brand so I took a chance on Makita. I own a lot of Makita tools just not there saws . I am a carpenter and I need stuff to last because it gets used every day for 8+ hours. After I used the saw I love the balance and weight I also think the LED work light is a nice thing to have in low light conditions. All around I would recommend to all people that need a saw that is built to last!!!

This is the best circular saw I have ever used. I used to own the previous version, 5007FK. I'm a homeowner, not a pro, and my old saw 'disappeared' when some contractors were at the house. I went for this upgraded model as a replacement and haven't been disappointed. I've used it on multiple projects (deck, bookcases, some light framing) and it is powerful and cuts true. It is a big improvement over the old version in several ways. The ergonomics are better, the adjustment levers are now rubber coated (used to be smaller hard plastic knobs), and the cast magnesium base is more solid than the old stamped aluminum base. Also, the blade guard is redesigned and no longer binds up on 2x material. Great saw. Highly recommended. Comparison shop against the Milwaukee and the Porter-Cable (forget the DeWalts) and you'll see this Makita comes in first. My only complaint is that the included blade is junk mine lost two carbide teeth on my first project. Ditch the blade for a good Irwin or DeWalt blade.

I have used the current models of Dewalt, Hitachi and Milwaukee circular saws extensively, and this saw is hands down better than any of those. I use the saw every day,I have had this opportunity because my tools have been stolen a couple times(ouch)

The makita LXT impact and drill are so good that I thought I would try out this tool.

A list of what I noticed about this saw the first time I used it. I was astonished how quickly I noticed this stuff in use,

it seemed only all right when I checked it out at the store.

1. It has a silky smooth start up

2. It has excellent ergonomic grips

3. It is quieter and sounds better

4. It has an light to see your line, (much more useful than I thought it would be)

5. The adjustment levers function better and are easier to grab

6. Onboard storage for blade removal hex key

7. The angle adjustments and depth stop are easier to see.

8. It comes with the rip guide (much more useful that you would think)

9. The cord is installed to the body of the tool like they mean for it to stay and not fray

10. and does it ever cut smoothly,

it does not however have a electric brake, the 5007mga does though i believe.

This saw is on a different plane,

Thanks Makita engineers, you are making some amazing tools right now.

And other guys, come on seriously catch up.

I have used nothing but the base model makitas and have loved them. I was in the market for a new saw and thought this would be the top of all circular saws. It is great for bevels, very easy to set an accurate angle. Depth adjustment is a snap. Always having the wrench on the saw is a big plus.

The only problem that I have is the guard. I don't know if all the saws have this problem but my guard is always giving me problems. It just doesn't want to ride up as I make a cut.

As a precision-oriented professional home-remodeler, I finally got fed-up with the DeWalt 364 I had been using for the past 14 years. It is a rugged saw, to be sure, but I could never get it aligned properly, so ripping with the fence has always been an adventure. I finally gave up and just started ripping everything free-hand. Also, the blade would deflect terribly when ripping along a bevel. ANYWAY, I bought this Makita 5007MG and LOVE the saw. It's lighter, very well-balanced for me, and cuts incredibly accurately. The rubber grips everywhere are appreciated. The bevel lever and pre-set stops are great. Even the depth-of-cut guide is quite accurate. The led lights are a great bonus and are very effective even in total darkness. Oddly, they are on whenever the saw is plugged in, though led's do have a very long life, so this may be of little concern. All in all this saw is a pleasure to use, particularly for me as a left-hander--very easy to see the line-of-cut. I'm not sure why the complaint from another lefty in another review.

Where this package falls short is in the case, the rip guide, and the cord. The case is the same old generic case Makita has been using for all its sidewinders for years. The saw barely fits, and there's virtually no room for blade storage--2 blades max. I like to have beater blades, new blades, masonry blades, finish blades all in the case. As for the rip fence, it's pretty minimal. The arm is so short that its max rip is a measly 7 or 8 inches. Also, the most you can rip to the right of the blade is 3", and the least you can rip to the left is 3 5/8". The range in between is missing altogether. The hook which allows the fence to slide in under the saw's sole plate should be bent slightly longer to allow you to shove it all the way over, tighten the nut, and rip an accurate 3 1/2"--handy for plywood filler strips for 2x4 framing. Lastly, even though the saw is double-insulated and doesn't require a three-prong cord, it should have one. Even if the ground prong is a dummy prong, it sure helps any tool stay plugged into an extension cord. Hopefully, Makita will figure this stuff out. I should send these comments to the company. Buy the saw anyway. It's a great one.

WL212000SJ Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor Pump / Motor Kit

WL212000SJ Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor Pump / Motor Kitoverall quality of the pump seems good. my biggest and only issue is the center section near the fan. the original body was longer. this is where the strap mounts over the pump to hold it to the base plate/ tank. the new pumps center is much smaller and when you put the stap on it hits the plastic fan shroud. i modified my strap mount to make this work. once every thing was bolted down it fired right up and built pressure nice and fast. only other issue is the air intake/ cylinder head is missing a plate where the muffler installed on my old pump. not a huge deal

Fit my compressor with no problem, and it works great. All the small parts the i needed. Would buy for this vendor again.

DEWALT D51276K 1-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch 15-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer

  • Includes carrying case, sample finish nails and safety glasses
  • Low profile no-mar pad;Sequential action trigger installed

This is the one.

I had the oportunity to try several 15 guage nailers after deciding that my 16G Porter Cable could not do the job I wanted it.

Don't get me worng. My PC is the best 16G nailer in my arsenal but I needed something more.

I tried the Hitachi 15G, the Senco, and the Bostich.

I then tried the Dewalt and I was hooked. I was ready to buy the Hitachi, but the Dewalt went down to a 1" over the Hitachi 1 1/4" and the balance of the Dewalt just felt better in my hand. I also liked the feel of the trigger, plus the fact that I could access the depth adjustment more readily on the Dewalt over the Hitachi.

I have run about 16 hours of work with the tool so far and I am very happy with it. I run it with oil, since there is no better way to protect the seals and rings. I know that Dewalt advertises that you can run the tool without oil, but do not do it. You will just eat away at the life of the seals and piston rings.

No doubt a winner. Much improved over its previous D51275K.

I bought this nailer 4 months ago and went around and around trying to get nails that worked with it. The angle on Senco DA nails is slightly less than the nails that came with the nailer. I also tried a few after market nails--same deal. Finally I ordered Bostitch DA nails and they are exactly the same as the ones that came with it. Probably they are purchased by DeWalt for the kit. The Senco nails even say that they are for this gun on the package. They shoot 3 or 4 times and jam. Bostitch run great.

This gun is very smooth, it sets the nail just right.

I have used several differant guns professionally and this one is very desireable. If you want to save $20 and get junk that will jam at crunch time buy somthing else. If you want reliable smooth quality get this one....

I bought this nailer used in mint condition on Amazon. Seems to work fine. I am using Porter and Cable 2 1/2" nails and it shoots them well if you don't slam the nail bolt forward. If I slam it the nails seems to wedge in the delivery ramp and don't feed. A minor thing but it took me a minute to figure out why it was only shooting one nail and then stopped. Since then I've used it with no issues.

Bought this to install new hardwood flooring in a rental condo we were renovating and couldn't be happier with my choice. It is easy to use, well-made and I'm certain will last for many, many years to come. I'd never installed hardwood flooring before and after a few test "shots" into some scrap plywood I was successful in laying 120 square feet of 3/4" Maple and 25 square feet of Brazilian Redwood with nary a glitch. Getting the correct angle on the "tongue" of hardwood flooring is really the only skill you need to learn and, once you've got that, it's a breeze and you'll be installing floors that look truly professional.
