Bought this based on the build quality everyone talked about in the reviews and the value for it. I was a little turned off about most reviews in here discouraging some because they found the mounting to be too difficult. I figured well even if it is hard to mount, I only have to do it once then it is done and I'll have a great hose reel. To my surprise this thing was extremely EASY to mount.

I mounted mine on my shop ceiling which sits about 16 feet above the floor.. My original plan after reading how hard people struggled with trying to mount a spinning hose reel was to install the reel on a piece of 2"x6" (which is perfect size for the mount btw) and then it would be easier to control when I moutned it on the ceiling. (The 2x6 was also to be used as a stabilizer between two rafters)

After receiving the unit and looking at it I realized that only one bolt, yes just one, is holding the reel to the mounting bracket. The one bolt is of course very sturdy and I have no doubt it will hold up to years of abuse. Removing the one bolt and the hose stopper at the end of the hose allows the mount to be free of the reel. This allows you to mount the bracket where you need to without the reel being in the way and all that additional weight.

This went unbelievably well. Attaching the reel was just as easy to put on as it was to take off. After you place the reel along with its attached bolt back into the mount, you can free one hand to thread the locknut and nut on. After the bolt is cinched down far enough with your hands it can hold the weight of the reel while you jump down off the ladder and get your ratchet to make sure the bolt is nice and snug.

This method of installation also allows you to customize the amount of tension the reel starts off with which was a blessing for me as I didnt want to have the reel take the hose 16 feet up in the air if I forgot to lock it into place. Now the tension is set to pull the cord at about 7 feet from the floor. Out of the way from anything but easily within my grasp when I need it and I dont need to remember to lock it in place.

Only had the reel for a few days so I cant comment on durability quite yet but it does seem to be very well built. I felt I had to express my satisfaction with the product and the installation.

this hose reel was replacing a smaller (broken) plastic one in my shop so I was gratified for the heft of the steel case and reel. The hose was good quality rubber. No hose fittings were included and the assembly/ disassembly instructions are poor but for the price it is a good value (I looked at many before this purchase and unless you have a professional shop or vehicle with a need for a 2-500 dollar reel, this is a good choice).

This unit seems to be well built.The only things I didnt like is the sticky substance on the hose,and the hose that is to short for connection to the compressor .The stickyness came off quite easily.Some people have had trouble mounting it.If youre going to install it on the wall or ceiling the easiest way to mount it is to first pull the hose all the way out(this makes the unit lighter and gets the hose out of the way for mounting) then move the stop right close to the rollers to keep it from rewinding.Dont skip this step if you want to keep all youre fingers.Next measure for youre half inch bolt holes(dont use lag screws,1/2 inch bolts make a more secure installation,and install much easier )drill holes for bolts.With the help of another person or the use of a set of 2-2 blocks to hold the weight of the unit,install 4 one half inch bolts.Next install hose from the compressor.You will most likely need a longer hose than the 3 foot one that comes with the unit,if it had a longer hose for connection to the compressor I would give it five stars. Over all this is great deal for the price.

The blaster works great. A few practices that need to be followed with any blaster are clean dry media and dry air. The water trap included seems to work fine. A strainer or screen to make sure all the media is able to pass through the nozzle. I like the top that allows easy filling.

Cons: Only real complaints are the hard to understand assembly instructions, the hood which tends to fog up easily and the required O-ring in the nozzle which can be lost or misplaced when clearing a clog from the nozzle.

At 135lbs it does leak slightly from the plastic cap on top center between two polycarbonate bowls. I lose about 5lbs an hour. Set the line pressure but depending the pressure in compressor, the line pressure can vary and not stay stable. Better than some cheap ones i've had, if I wanted to spend $200 plus i'm sure I could find better.

Out of the box this thing worked great. However, a couple of things to consider before purchasing this particular brand/model sander. It uses around 10SCFM @ 90PSI. This is a high air demand tool and for those of you that don't already have that high of an output air compressor or don't have the extra $$$ to pony up like myself you probably should avoid this sander from the get go. I would recommend having no less than a 6-8 SCFM compressor to even consider this as it made my 4SCFM compressor 26 gallon run CONSTANTLY when sanding a fender for my truck (not good). I now have a craftsman DA sander that cost about 30.00 more but only requires 3.1 SCFM to operate therefor an extremely lower load on my compressor that works just as good.

The really bad: About 2/3rds of the way sanding through my fender this sander got stuck in the what seemed like ON position. The switch or some other component inside failed and would not shut off. I had to use the built in regulator to slow it down enough to stop it and unplug the hose. Could be dangerous or at least scare the crap out of you like it did me. I wound up taking it apart and checking everything out and rebuilding it but I could never figure the darn thing out and wound up trashing it for the less demanding craftsman DA.

I've quickly found out with air tools you get what you pay for. Sometimes it really isn't worth it to try and save yourself 30.00 especially when the tool only lasts all but 1-2 hours of usage. In my opinion/experience with this sander is they might as well label it a D Sander Disposable Sander instead of a DA.

Also: I did oil this sander prior to first use, I did not drop it, bang it, or place it under any excessive stress during its short time in operation. Don't think it's my error.

I already had one C & H sander that I have had for years. The instructions warned against dropping it. I dropped it. It didn't work right. I ordered this new one. While waiting for the new one, I accidentally dropped the first one again. It started working correctly again. Now I have two sanders. Which is useful with different grits of sandpaper on each.

I do not use this to make a living, but so far they have been really good sanders. Don't drop them though.

Although I did not get to use it much, it seems to work perfectly. Unfortunately my compressor was not strong enough to keep it running at a good speed for an extended period of time, which forced me to use and electric sander. I am sure if I had a better compressor that I would have been very happy with this sander.

Haven't really been able to use as hoped. Have tried on several occasions but before I really get started the nozzle clogs. Using coal slag as the media which is pretty darn fine...but the second you stop the flow of material with stop it backs up and plugs. Air flow settings are key and just haven't found the settings to make it work yet.

This is an add-on "dead-man" shut-off valve and nozzle assembly for use with pressure-pot sandblasters like the cheaper ones from Harbor Freight. If you don't already have one of those, this won't be very useful except possibly as a novel paperweight or something to throw into the corner to relieve frustration.

I bought mine at a local tool store; it is the same Pit Bull branded package.

Contrary to what the package says, it comes with 4 extra ceramic nozzles, but no wrench.

The nozzles are 5 different sizes, ranging from about 0.087" diameter to about 0.123". (Take those measurements with a grain of salt... it's not easy to measure them, and the nozzles are tapered inside. They're definitely not all the same size.)

Installation: it screws directly onto the original shutoff valve body after removing the old tip assembly and wrapping some Teflon tape around the threads.

How well does it work? Um, I don't know yet. There's a problem with the motor on my two-cylinder compressor, and when I took the motor apart, more things broke and I discovered that replacement parts are hard to come by. I'll see if I can do some spot blasting with the little compressor, using the smallest diameter tip.

I had used part of this product before and could not find it locally. It is a specific tool for the job and it is very useful. This product came with a gutter rake which I probably would not have wanted but now I am glad it was included with the two downspout filter which I also would not have purchased but I am also glad to have. In fact I might buy another filter as I have three downspouts. The Gutter Getter itself is a nice tool and it helps a lot when you have a lot of gutters to clean. The rake is a nice tool that also aides in cleaning.

In 2002 I fell off a ladder while cleaning gutters. My hands were slippery with the muck from the gutters. I was very lucky that I only broke a finger in the fall and not something more severe. The Gutter Getter and the gutter rake might have prevented this fall. This is a good product and the extra parts I am now convinced to be worth the extra money. I would definitely recommend this to others. Also I could not find it locally so getting it on Amazon was a big plus.

Bought this for my husband who has to climb 2 stories on a ladder to clean the gutters. He doesn't have to move the ladder as many times. He can reach quite far with the pole. I am happy because he gets the job done in half the time. I am very nervous when he is on the ladder.

It's cheap, but does extend your reach a bit. So a few less trips up and down the ladder, which is great. The gutter downspout covers are keeping the leaves out of the downspouts, so pretty neat extra deal.

I have very narrow gutters, which makes cleaning them very difficult on my hands. My hands always get very scraped up and takes a lot of hard work to dig out handful by handful into a bucket with the help of a garden spade. However, this completely solved my hands getting scraped up, and significantly minimized the hard work and time involved. I am very happy with this. It isn't built to last forever, but for the price, it saved me a lot of time and no scraping my hands.

The four piece extension scraper is quite long and saves you a lot of time moving the ladder. I could just pull the thick muddy leaves towards me. I really didn't have to move my ladder at all for my ~12 foot sections. My only difficulty wasn't related to this, which was having to get around a tree that was in the way of ladder placement. It easily scrapes thick leaves, mud, and water in my narrow gutters. You only have to work a little bit getting above and under the reinforcement bars that hold your gutter out at even intervals. I just pulled from the top, then fit under and pulled the rest. Also, I scraped a few feet at a time working outword instead of trying to pull everything at once from the furthest reach towards me.

The scoop is absolutely excellent for my narrow gutters. It is plastic and flexible and can push into different widths. However, you cannot easily just scoop. What I did was use this scoop as a pan, scoop it in at an angle, then use a garden spade to pull the thick muddy leaves into the scoop and pack it in, and then in just a few quick scoops into a bucket it was done. It might not hold up durably forever, but the flexibility is perfect and the only thing I could imagine could fit into my narrow gutters in place of my hands.

I still used a gutter cleaner hose attachment, which is not part of this set, to wash out the mud & debris. It could have been left in perhaps, but it is easy to wash out with a U-shaped hose attachment two sweek along towards the down spout. The rest just runs down the down spout. I am very glad I did because my down spout was clogged at its first elbow. I just used a garden dirt poker to try to dig it out and it instantly poked free with proding. I then finished flushing it.

I easily inserted one of the down spout drain grate over provided in this set. So hopefully it will not get clogged again. There are two plastic tabs that you turn down and insert into the opening. With the narrow hole for my down spout, it squeeses the grate to fit snugly over the hole. I suspect those little tabs will crack off eventually in the hot summer heat. So I don't know how long it will last in place. It will also have to be removed for the next gutter cleaning because the scraper cannot just scrape over it with it in the way.

This is a specialized product for cleaning leaves / muck out of your roof gutters. It does this very well, and for that alone is worth the price. I was looking for something like this and did not find many other good alternatives either on Amazon or in brick and mortar stores.

The product consists of a rake (which you attach the extension handles to) which is used to pull debris towards you, and a scoop which fits perfectly in the gutter to pull the muck out. The reach allows you to cover a large section of the gutter at each position of the ladder. Where some gloves and old clothes and keep a bag near your ladder to scoop the muck into. Keep some rags nearby too to wipe your ladder and hands periodically to prevent slipping and falling.

The gutter getter is much better than using a shovel or some other tool you'll save time, prevent damaging your gutters (with a metal shovel or some other improvised tool), and take fewer trips up and down the ladder a convenience and safety factor. I would highly recommend purchasing this product if you intend to clean your own gutters.

I have not tried the downspout filters, but other reviewers have noted that they work well.

I needed a impact wrench for rotating my tires. Originally I bought a Harbor Freight Special...... and it wouldn't turn the lug nuts on my Silverado or Trailblazer for nothing. The first thing I do with any new tool is to grasp a full understanding of maintenance and care before using. The many professionals who rave about the 231C are right about quality, durability and price. Here are a few things I discovered that are not mentioned. The Product Information manual is a runt. Inside the front cover is a small diagram, less than 2 inches square, showing the tool and all lubrication points using tiny icons which I found to be somewhat confusing. So I contacted IR customer service for clarification. What a surprisingly courteous and helpful reply I received. They were great and answered every question I had. I've used impact wrenches all of my life. The 231C is a prize and I wanted to treat it right. Here's what I learned. Complete lubrication of the 231C is done at the factory. Since the owner's manual also covers the 231H and the 244A, the one diagram shows the lube points for all models. There is only one grease port on the back of the 231C. Add grease after 40 hours of use. If you do not have an in-line lubricator on your pressure hose, add 3 drops of oil/air tool lubricant to the air intake port every 6 to 8 hours or daily. That's all. IR offers an Impact Wrench Care Kit and it is sold by Amazon.Com. It includes the grease gun,heavy duty impact wrench grease (105-4T) and air tool lubricant (10Z4) . If you want the best, deserve the best, buy the best.

Background:

I decided to replace my own brakes for the first time because I would rather spend the money on tools, knowledge, experience so I can do it myself for the rest of my life. I was able to get the calipers off but the bolts holding the caliper bracket wouldn't give. Heat, quenching, PB Blaster, nothing would move these bolts. I knew I needed an impact wrench.

Side by Side:

I first bought the Coleman Powermate 024-0077CT impact wrench because it was cheap and the specs seemed good to me. I thought 250lb of torque (Supposedly) would be enough to remove those stubborn bolts. No joy. The Coleman had a hard time with the lugnuts and didn't move the caliper bracket bolts at all.

I went to a local store and purchased this Ingersoll Rand 231C wrench. I got it home and it buzzed those bolts out like they were only in finger tight! I made no changes to the air compressor and all of the other parts (e.g. air hose, sockets, etc.) were the same.

Results:

You really do get what you pay for. I only wish I would have read the Amazon reviews before I wasted money on the Coleman. Oh, and I paid approx $50 more than Amazon price for the IR wrench locally. :(

I bought one of these compressors a couple of months ago after doing carefull research and actually going to a repair facility here in AZ that handles warranty repairs for a variety of brands. Comparing quality versus price the Bostitch CW200ST was a winner.

So I bought one to use with a Bostitch nail gun and stapler while restoring my parents house. I estimate that the compressor has about 15 (fifteen) hours of use by now. The oil pump reaches pressure rather quickly but the pressure regulator cuts the power at 120 PSI rather than 125 PSI as prescribed. The condensation drains are installed in a bad place and when open do not drain because they are too high on the tanks I estimate that it will have over a QUART of water inside each tank before any will reach the drains. You will have to tilt the compressor down and rock it side to side to get the water out, furthermore when tilted the lower drain hits the floor impedig drainage so you actually have to lift this rather heavy machine and tilt it and rockit at the same time in order to drain...A real pain!!! the handles are not in the right places and the unit does not balance well at all.

Shortly after purchasing the unit one of the Quick Disconnects on the compressor will not seal itself after the hose is taken off and will merily leak all the air out in about one minute, I had to replace that so I could use the machine. It is rather cumbersome to unscrew the disconnects as they are too close to each other and the pressure Gauge. For about the last five hours of use I started to notice that if left pressurized overnight the air was gone in the morning upon closer inspection I could hear a faint hiss comming from somewhere behind the regulator It was not much just enough to leak and turn the machine on about every 15 minutes even if I did not use air. Yesterday the manual regulator prooved to be the culprit as when I started the compressor for the first time it would not hold air at all. The two halves that make the assembly where the manual knob is placed have came apart where they are threaded together. I took the disconnects off and loked at the problem. It looked like vibration had caused the two parts to came undone. I Screwed them back together and put some red thread locking liquid on them. I put everything back together and left it overnight to set. Today I power it on and it run up to the regular 120 PSI. I put my head next to it to listen for the noise of air escaping and sure enough there was a faint hisssss... While I was trying to figure out where the noise is caming from The back of the manual regulator popped loose again suddenly letting all the air escape in an instant startling me and prompting my wife to ask from the kitchen some ways away: "did you do that on purpose?" Well NO. The Zamak threads are soft and do not mesh.They are too loose and thin hence the problem. The machine is unusable untill I get a replacement hopefully of beter quality. Unfortunately I have to get the exact size and probably same model since it mounts on the front panel with a plastic threaded ring and space is rather limited and, it neds to have the same ports and orintation so it can take the various hoses and ports connecting to it... Overall the tech was right the actuall compressor is well done I believe he said it was Italian made the rest is rather sloppy and not thought out well. There is a small tag on the unit, it says: "Made in PRC" I don't think that is nowhere near USA

I've had this compressor for about 6 months, but only recently have been able to test it with some projects.

i've had this compressor for 3 years. it froze up about a month after i purchased it, repair facility was fast, and put a new motor on swiftly.

it will not work in cold weather. it's an ordeal trying to get it to cycle in weather less than 40deg.

i think the problem is the motor, I say this because a shopmate bought a rigid mini wheel barrow compressor that has a visually identical compressor motor on it, and it doesn't work well in cold weather either. My shop is not heated, so on cold days we have a contest to see who can get their compressor running first. that's when we're in a good mood, often when you are working on a cabinet or somesuch, you hear the motor click on but not cycle and you curse under your breath because it's a pain in the butt.

as i speak it has an audible leak in it's regulator somewhere. it ruptured the hose from the regulator to the shutoff valve once before, it was loud and happened in a clients home.

so, after three years of consistent use it's still going, but not without a lot of help along the way.

if i could i'd look for a model with a completely different motor assembly.

and if i had my $250 back.

The compressor has been in service for two years now. It is quiet, smooth and recovers quickly. We ran it continuously for several hours on two separate occasions while air-stripping paint and running a small jack hammer but with good results. Although continuous use is not recommended by the manufacturer for this model the compressor performed without a whimper but did produce a significant amount of heat during these two periods and developed a little oil seepage from the crankcase gasket, but no leak. For a continuous use 5hp compressor you should consider the QR series from Quincy but keep in mind the QR model 325 would be grossly overkill for most users and very expensive by comparison, over $4000.00. Having a 50,000 hour service life this unit being reviewed will surely outlast me but it is nice to have equipment that I am sure will not let me down. It is constructed very heavy throughout but top heavy due to the massive pump (for a 5hp unit) so it should be bolted down to the floor or to a wide base/stand. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

This is the 1st time I have used a "hot dog" style compressor. I had a 4 gallon pancake compressor a few years ago that I sold during a money crunch situation. Comparing the 2 compressors: the hot dog is lighter, quieter, and seems to work better for what I use it for. (that being general use things for around the house).

Tools I have used that work well with this: air stapler(1/4"narrow crown 18ga staples of 3/4" to 1 3/4"), brad nailer(18ga 5/8" to 2" brads), angled finish nailer(1" to 2 1/2" 15ga), framing nailer(2" to 3 1/2" 16d nails), palm nailer, paint spray gun(1qt cup gen purpose), air blower nozzle, tire inflator.

Pros: fairly quiet(did not wake the wife sleeping 5o ft away in the bedroom "big+++"), light weight(easily portable), adjustable outlet pressure, 20 ft hose and quick connect coupler included(I have a 25 ft rubber extension hose that can be easily disconnected when not needed). Fairly small footprint(does not require much storage space).

Cons: the low pressure limit switch threshold could be a little higher. If you get a staple, nail or brad that does not sink all the way, it is a sure sign pressure is at the bottom limit of usage for the tool and probably the compressor will start to run at the very next pull of the trigger. "just wish it were a little higher".

Also: will not work well with any tool that requires more CFM such as rachets, impact drivers, sanders, etc. (knew this before ordering so not a big deal for me). Just saying.

Considering I have only had the chance to use it a month, do not know how long unit will last overall; but do not expect it to be a lifetime(20-30yr) thing either.

All in all; pretty good bang for the buck. Better than the "tire inflator" types that are about the same price. Very pleased with purchase, and if needed would definitely purchase one again.

I bought this for its portability. When I don't want to haul my large compressor upstairs for minor projects, I thought this would fit the bill. And, it does. Actually, it will even run my framing nail gun although I'd worry about burning it out if I was doing a lot of nailing with the big gun. With the smaller finishing, stapling and brad nailers it's perfect. Highly recommended some smallish projects.

The first one arrived... The air pressure gauge's plastic screen on the air nozzle attachment was broken. Also, the compressor was very loud and made a weird noise like it had something inside the compressor motor. It sounded like it was about to die. minus a star on my review.

I called Amazon and they sent a replacement. Once the replacement arrived (took about a week) I sent the defective unit back to them.

The replacement unit arrived in what seems like excellent condition. It still makes a lot of noise when it is filling up the tank with air but nothing like the first unit. The air pressure gauge and air hose arrived in like new condition.

This is a relabeled Husky model as the label on the motor housing was partially cut off. Not to mention that the air pressure gauge has the Husky label still on it (the back side of the pressure gauge).

This unit is perfect for my Badger 150 airbrush. My old tankless compressor died and that is what motivated me to get this unit. Yes, the price also screamed 'buy me'.

Make sure you follow the manual on how to break in the motor.

Important!!! Do not leave the tank filled with air for any period of time. When finished using the unit, use the air drain on the bottom of the storage tank and drain out the remaining air. This helps to expell any moisture that may be inside of the tank. That 'trapped' moisture can cause it to rust from the inside out if you do not do this.

I took the risk on a refurbished unit. I had to do an exchage but in the end it all worked out.

My daughter gave me this for Christmas. Even though it is reconditioned it looks new, isn't too heavy and the handle makes it easy to move around.

The instructions say to run it for 10 minutes with the tank drain open to break it in; I did and noticed it ran well and is quieter than I expected for a compressor. Then I shut it off, closed the drain valve, and turned it on. In less than 5 minutes the tank pressure gauge read 102 psi and the compressor shut off. I slowly released the pressure and the compressor came on when the gauge indicated 65 psi.

It is not a heavy-duty air compressor designed for big jobs like painting a house, or impact wrenches. Instead, it should excel at smaller jobs around the house, such as: inflating tires, blowing out home air conditioning/heating filters, blowing car air filters, inflating balls and pools, blowing dust from lawnmowers and motorcycle engines, cleaning dust and shavings from the work area, perhaps even small spray painting jobs like lawn furniture, etc. I know I will come up with other uses for this as days go by.

It comes with a good length of coiled hose with a female quick disconnect attached to one end and a threaded fitting to screw it to the compressor on the other end. The included tire inflator has a male quick disconnect to attach it to the hose. Amazon shows a hose and tire inflator as 'FREQUENTLY BOUGHT TOGETHER' with this item, but they are already included! In fact, the inflator appears to be the same one as in the photo of frequently bought together, except mine has a quick disconnect that mates with my hose quick disconnect, while the one in the photo has a threaded connector.

The connectors/attachments I just mentioned above already have either teflon tape or o-rings on the threaded ends, a nice touch.

The only problem I had was with the tire inflator. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the quick disconnect had been screwed on to the nozzle end and the tire valve hose had been screwed on to the intake end of the trigger device. Once I reversed those parts, all was well. This is not mentioned in the instructions. One other thing is that I would have prefered a straight hose as it is easier to handle than the included coiled hose.

As far as the 'refurbished' part, I think the things needing replacement (usually) would be some internal air pump parts, motor/pump bearings, air valves, seals, and possibly a new air manifold assembly (both gauges on my air manifold still had cellophane covering them). The tank would be inspected and pressure checked, then repainted/decaled to look new. On mine, it was obvious that the power cord, hose, and the plastic compressor cover were new, no scuffs or marks on them. The only thing that looks slightly used at all is the gauge on the inflater, the plastic window has a couple small marks on it. Except for the inflater gauge, this compressor could pass as new. I will not complain about the inflater looking used, it works well and there is no mention in the product description that it (or the hose) is even included, so I think of them as freebies. Look at the hose and inflater shown on this product page as 'frequently bought together' and notice that together they sell for more than half of the $40 total price of this compressor, BUT THEY ARE ALREADY INCLUDED AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! Add the fact that this has free shipping and I have to ask: HOW DO THEY DO IT?

As it comes from the box it can only be used to inflate tires and somewhat as a dust blower, until I get a true blower nozzle and other attachments. Attachments are sold on Amazon and elsewhere to expand the use of this compressor.

Will it last? Only time will tell. But my first impression is that this is well built and it will certainly come in handy for small to medium jobs around the house.

NEXT DAY: I decided to put this to a small test on my daughter's tires. They were all low, so I inflated them, using the gauges of the compressor and inflater to determine the pressure. Then I checked the tire pressure with a tire gauge and found the compressor/inflater's gauges and the tire gauge all agree, so I know the gauges are accurate. Also, the clip-on style inflater is much easier to use than those air chucks that have to be held tightly by hand on the tire valve.

The unit seems to work well now that it is all set up and does cool the room down. However, I was never told that my windows had to be large to be able to put the panel and hose in the window in order to run the unit. I ended up having to take a saw to the plastic panel piece so that it would fit my window. The installation and set up instructions are also confusing and riddled with typos. However, now that I do have it working it does work pretty well

Didn't get much of a chance to use it. Tried it out in the bedroom for a little while and it was immediately clear that the noise level was going to be insufferable when the compressor kicks in. From a distance or in a larger room you might be able to tolerate this unit while awake, but in a smaller room (ours is 10' x 12' with low ceilings), it's just too loud, especially if you want to sleep. White noise of a fan alone is one thing, but... It's weird... the compressor runs at this certain oscillating pitch that makes it impossible for me to ignore... kind of like a bad hotel window/wall unit.

Also, whenever the compressor kicks on, it jolts the unit so hard it twists a good couple of inches on my hardwood floor... over the period of an evening, that could be bothersome.

That said, I highly doubt there's anything better out there in terms of noise. It's conceivable that some other manufacturer has insulated the heck out a unit like this to make it tolerable, but we're not going to bother with another unit.

As far as cooling: well, it's about 75 degrees in room and 76 out. It cooled down the area it was in to 72 within a few minutes. The air coming out is fairly cold, but I have no idea how it will deal with serious heat though. It is single hose, so it must rely on negative pressure to pull free air into the area in order to circulate and expell the heat.

In terms of ergonimics, it kind of sucks. It's heavy, and there are no "handles" to speak of. I managed to carry it up stairs, but it was a pain.

Not sure whether this is any better or worse than any competing product... I just know that, for the money, if you can mount one, just but a high quality Window or through-wall A/C. It will work better and I've heard much quieter window A/Cs than this.

I don't know why anyone with a regular up-down sash window would get one of these. A window unit will cool better and is easier to install. I put this in a house with crank windows only so I have no choice. I used a hole saw to cut a 5" hole through the wall, installed a dryer vent kit and hooked the output tube of this unit to it. Works great. It easily cools the entire downstairs on my house, about 1500 sq ft, even on 90+ days. The output tube flow a great deal of air, far, far more than a dryer does. It easily handles the condensate that is placed into the air flow. No leaks or accumulation anywhere. Quieter than I thought, it hums away in the corner and I can talk over it. Quieter than any window unit I have ever owned. Remote is a bit awkward. You have to hit a button a couple times to get it to recognize the remote each time, but it works. Overall very good, would buy another.

This does a good job of cooling but sounds like a jet engine! Really roars! Had to move it out of the bedroom, it was too loud to sleep! And makes alarming clunking noises.

Unlike the other reviewers, the unit I received was clearly used (but, not abused). I have shopped for a compressor to use around the house on small projects, and especially for maintaining the air pressure on my car tires. So, when I saw this unit I knew the price was right, and took a chance on it being "Factory-Reconditioned." Glad I did. For the price, it is hard to beat this compressor. ** One caution, the picture of the unit gives one the impression that there is a black rubber 50 foot hose included. Mine arrived with a 25 foot coiled yellow PVC hose. This is my first factory reconditioned power tool, but if what I've experienced so far is any indication, it will not be my last. First off the compressor and nailer arrived within the 5 days promised. I've seen some reviews of not being properly packed for shipment. While mine was not packed with bubble wrap or foam peanuts, the box was the proper size and shape to protect it during shipping. The compressor included hose, inflator, fittings, teflon tape and instructions. The nailer arrived in the plastic carry case with oil, box of brads and instruction manual. Basically everything you need to get started.

Appearance: The compressor was in great shape, it was obvious that it was not brand new with a few scratches on the tank paint and a few scuffs here and there. I'm sure the hose and accessories were brand new because they were still in factory wrapping. Some have said that their compressor included a good quality rubber hose, mine sadly did not. I got the 25' PVC hose as listed in the description. It is stiff, and does not coil really well, but will work for me until I need a new one. The nailer appeared to be brand new until I took a close look and spotted a few small scratches on the front.

Quick Test: I decided that I would turn it on and let it run with the tank drain valve open as a breaking in period for around 30 minutes while I assembled the air chuck, uncoiled the hose and installed the QD fittings. It was raining at the time so the compressor was in my garage with the door open. It is pretty loud as many have already stated, I would say it is about as loud as my circular saw, maybe just a little more. I was expecting it to be much louder from all the complaints, but it is as loud as you would expect a compressor of this size to be. If I had to work right next to it for any period I'd want to wear some ear protection. Once I closed the valve and adjusted the regulator to max, it ran for around 3 minutes then cut off. I didn't hear any leaks so I hooked up a blower nozzle I have and held the trigger wide open. After only 7 seconds the compressor kicked back on. I stopped blowing and let it build pressure. After 1 minute it cut off again. So far so good. Next I decided to top off all the car/truck tires. While adding 3-5 psi to each of 8 tires, the compressor had to run twice. I kept airing the tires while the compressor was running and it seemed to keep up. Next I tried out the nailer. I just wanted to make sure it worked so I shot around a dozen 2" brads into stacked pieces of MDF, then pine 2 by 4 and some plywood I had lying around. It drove and countersunk all the nails without any problems.

Projects and use: My first projects using the combo were out of 3/4 plywood. I think I shot around 30 2" brads and another 40 1.25" brads and never missed a beat. If I hold the nailer correctly, the brad is shot and countersunk well into the stock. I didn't need to mess with the depth set adjustment. I shot between 15 and 20 brads before the compressor had to build up pressure again. I've also used the compressor several times for blowing sawdust off power tools and general cleaning (moving dust).

Conclusion: So far I am satisfied with this combo, especially for the great price I got it for plus free shipping. I can't attest to how long it will last of course, but like I said so far so good. The condition of the tools upon arrival was excellent and they seem to be well-built sturdy tools, not cheap or lightweight at all. The original reason I wanted a compressor was just for blowing dust in the shop and airing up tires. The compressor has to run more often than I thought it would have for blowing dust, but if I lower the pressure I can find a happy medium. I guess that is a trade off for having a pancake compressor. I like that I can carry it where I need it and it takes up about the same space as a 5 gallon bucket. The nailer sure is a handy tool that I think I will use a lot if it lasts. I like the fact that the nailer will drive as small as 5/8" or large as 2" brad. Marked down for short power cord and questionable longevity.

This is a very good value, mine arrived in great shape and looked new. However, the release valve does seem to be a weak point in the design as it is plastic and was broken upon arrival. A pair of vice grips solved the problem. Overall a great value. The compressor seems to be high quality and the gun as well. I used it for a small project and both the gun and compressor performed as expected. If it wasn't for the breaking of the release valve, this would have easily gotten 5 stars.

I wanted a light compressor for small jobs and bought this combination becaue of the exellent value. I didn't need the brad nailer but gave it a try. It is far better than my old Porter Cable so I now use the Bostich. The compressor works well but it is noisier than my much larger compressor. I was using it indoors and had it sitting on a dropcloth on top of a carpet which should have muffled the sound a bit. Ear plugs are in order for even the most brief of use.
