I hired an HVAC guy to come over and inspect the condenser and evap coils. He said I needed a hard start kit, he hooked it up and it did start easier and was quieter however it would have cost me 250.00 and I said take it off. So I purchased one from here and hooked it up myself following the easy directions. Be advised you must take other precautions when installing this product. I had to drill my own holes as the existing ones wouldn't work. It works great. I am not an HVAC person, but I have a very good knowledge of power and how to discharge it properly.

Loud Buzzing on the feeder lines going to my outside A/C Unit on a split system during start up prompted this purchase. After connection, no more buzzing. Very Happy. Worked as advertised.

This worked as needed and got another season out of my dying condenser unit. My compressor was on it's last leg and it needed a little extra boost to get started. It got us through the season. With the addition of this, I had no more problems and the air ran great. I can't say how long the compressor would have lasted since I replaced it prior to failing completely.

Hopefully I never need to buy another one of these, but if I do, I'd do this again.
