The problem is the lock-on chuck. The size and basic design make it hard (or not possable because of limited access) to use and it does not always lock on well. You spend time getting it on right.

For half the price there is a no-name brand version of this tire filler you can get here at Amazon or from Harbor Freight that has a compact clamp on chuck that is much easier to use and has no access issues. C-H chose the wrong chuck.

This tire inflator is pretty neat. I got this because I had tires on some equipment where I needed a flexable hose to get to. My compressor uses type "M" fittings, so I had to buy a type "M" fitting in order to get it to connect to my compressor quick connects. Be sure you have what is needed before purchasing this item.

This thing was so easy to use, all I had to do is put the chuck on the tire stem and pull the lever on the chuck and I was ready to pump air pressure into the tire. I like the guage on this thing cause it tells me how much pressure is in the tire in real time! The guage will keep the pressure reading if you pull the chuck off the stem so if you want to write the pressure reading down on a piece of paper, then you can press a button on it to reset the guage!

It works really well and I am impressed with it, seems heavy duty and will last a long time! I think it was money well spent, just make sure you have the right fitting to attach it to your air compressor!

The inflator works well push the chuck firmly onto the tire, and the guage shows the pressure. The trigger and air release buttons make it easy to get the right pressure, and I think that the guage is quite accurate. The only problem is that the spring-loaded clip that holds the chuck onto the valve stem of the tire can interfere with certain rims. The unit I received looks slightly different from the picture here. On mine, the lever for the chuck is mounted inward, that is, on the same side as the chuck air hole. Depending on how cramped the space around the valve stem is, you may not be able to release the lever with the chuck on the valve. To inflate the tires on my VW Passat, I had to flex the valve stem quite a bit to create the necessary clearance. Not a terminal problem, but one that could so easily be avoided by putting the lever on the back of the chuck, or as it is shown in the image here.

The gage could be better but it is OK. When cliped on to the tire stem, it does NOT always open the valve in teh stem all teh way and needs to be pushed on further and held by hand. There should be an adjustment for this but there are no instructions to tell you if or how you can make this adjustment.

The chuck and clip design doesn't work on some of my tires; it won't go deep enough on the tire stem. I saw this mentioned in a few other reviews. Besides that, the spring in the clip slipped out yesterday and keeps popping out even after I disassembled/reassembled the clip there is no detent to hold the spring's "foot" on the metal base so it slips out repeatedly . I'm going to buy another inflator...

I bought it in November of 2002 I didn't use it till about 4 months later. Than I found the regulator wasn't working so I called Stanley and they said to send it to one of their repair shops in my state. It sat there for 1 month waiting for the part to come in. they fixed it (no charge) I have it back now and it's working fine. It came with a 2 1/2 inch nail gun. that works great also. I also use a 3-½ inch porter cable framing nailer with it and i've had no problem driving those nails in. the tank fills up very quick and last a long time between refills.

I would recommend this compressor to any one.It does not pull very many amps so it can be used on a low amp breaker and a long extension card .I am a serviceman and have been using a craftsman dual tank compressor for many years. The bostitch compares to the craftsman.Have read reviews that people has said the bostitch is loud.All compressors that put out any volume of air will make noise and each compressor has there on tone of noise.I can not hear that this compressor is any louder than others. It just has its on tone.You can not go wrong with this compressor for medium use.

I recently purchased 3 compressors form amazon the first was a Hitachi double hotdog which came broken and after parts (free from Hitachi) and my time still is leaking (disappointing) Second was this bostitch which I got as a package with the 3 guns and to be honest I only wanted the guns so this compressor was to be sold. Well because the Hitachi was down I used this and it does everything I wanted, quick, lite and not to loud. I'm not in a rush to fix the Hitachi now. By the way the third compressor is the little Senco. I will give a review on that after I use it this week.

Purchased this compressor w/Brad Nailer as a gift for my son. He used it once, then moved to an apartment, storing the unit with me. I went to used it and it would not bring up any pressure. Afraid I broke it so looked up a factory repair center. I brought it in and they told me "they did not want to mess with it". I said what? and the explained that this was so bad he had ten that customers have just told him to keep it. Also the factory rep came by and he could not even fix it. He went on to say he replaces the valves in them for $47 in parts +$40 in labor , the customers leave and return them next week broken with the same problem. Bottom line the nailer is great, but buy a Craftsman compressor and save yourself the headaches.

Wow!!! This thing can MOVE water!!!! It will easily POP a shop-vac hose on the outlet side. I kinda wish there was a speed slower than idle so my hoses would stay together, lol. A 20ft shop-vac hose will stretch another 3ft under the pressure and little jets of water will shoot up. I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy an outlet hose. :D

The shop-vac hose works fine for the intake side though. A little electrical tape seals the deal. No priming or anything like that.... Just fill the pump with water from a gallon milk jug, plop the intake hose in the water, fire it up and hang on!

The engine runs nice and is relatively quiet. The labels were backwards for the choke and throttle which made it a little confusing when I first fired it up, but no big deal. I'm just tickled pink I can move THAT much water for $200!!! I tried one of those $80-$90 electrical pumps first. I suppose they would be ok to empty a fish tank, but for a pool or pond.... Forget about it. Twice the price I'm moving 100 times the water!

I was a little worried since I've never heard of PowerMax before, but it seems to be every bit as good as a Briggs so far.... They look a lot alike too.

I bought this pump to replace another one I bought from Amazon 3 years ago. That one ate an exhaust valve and we could not find any replacement engine parts. I have a seasonal flooding problem and each winter my property gets flooded. As far as problems I don't agree with any of the other negative comments.

These are considered dewatering pumps. I have a 20' suction with about a 3'lift. The discharge varies anywhere from 150' to 200' head. I run the engine at half throttle and it lasts about 2 hours running time. The advertisement says it'll run 2.5 hours on a tank of fuel. So not bad.

I took it out of the box, added engine oil, filled the gas tank, hooked up the discharge and suction hoses, opened the fuel valve, choked the carb, two pulls, and whammo, has been running all day.

I don't however understand the output though as it says 220 gpm's. It that at idle or full throttle? No matter, for it's size, cost and easy mainetenance it's well worth the cost.

The only probem I had with delivery was it was supposed to be delivered on 1-15-13 and it didn't make it until 1-18 due to a shipping label mixup.

If I had to buy another pump, this would be my choice.

If you need to pump a lot of water, this unit works fine. I did not know anything about pumps, but soon learned. Took down to my pond during the drought to learn how it works & it can pump a lot of water...

My final use is to use with my well to pump water to the garden during the hot part of the year...

Saved me thousands of dollars. Storm Sandy flooded my Dad's basement on Long Island. The disaster recovery companies, "thieves", were charging $2500 $3400 for pump out. With no experience I ordered this pump and appropriate hoses. It was unbelievable! In 45 minutes it pumped out 30" of water in a full basement. A big caution: You can not run the generator dry. Also, priming the pump proved easy, but the procedure was not described in the manual for applications requiring big suction side lifting. The manual indicated that the only necessary priming is to pour a limited amount of water into the pump body through a plug on top of the pump. This is probably not adequate if you need to suck up a significant lift such as 6 feet down a basement. I was advised by someone with a lot of experiences to fill up the entire discharge hose if possible, and possibly part of the suction side, in addition to the pump body as indicated in the manual. Once you get a big column of water moving on the discharge side, the resultant vacuum will pull the water up into the pump on the suction side. Use the water in the discharge side hose to keep the pump full and wet while you wait for the pump "to catch". It took close to a minute, but man did it pump. Worked first try. For this reason you probably need a long discharge hose to prime the pump effectively for a long suction lift. I imagine many people think that they can skip buying a discharge hose. This would be a mistake. If you only need to lift a couple feet then no discharge hose is probably necessary. I bought a hose kit with 20 ft suction and 25 ft discharge. I followed the advice above and it worked great! I will say that the required massive and stiff 3" suction hose is awkward to handle, and it was a bit of overkill. The pump became useless at about 3" of remaining depth. It just sucked a hole in the water and sucked mostly air. A pool cover pump loaned to me was able to suck the floor nearly dry, less than 1/4". The sump pumps seemed to require at least 1.5 inches of water to operate. I am no expert, but I had great results with this gas pump and I think above advice is accurate.

There is a tag on this product stating that it can be run for ten minutes and must then be allowed to cool down for thirty minutes. When my truck tire developed a slow leak, I plugged the compressor in, connected it to the tire valve, and started timing. At eight minutes the compressor started smoking, so I unplugged it. The tire started at 60 psi and needed to be inflated to 80 psi. At eight minutes the pressure had risen to 65 psi. In summary, this product is totally worthless and should be removed from amazon.com.

The mini air pump works. I have not tested to pump air on tire and check if the gauge work.
