Campbell Hausfeld FP2080 4 Gallon Portable Air Compressor

Campbell Hausfeld FP2080 4 Gallon Portable Air Compressor
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Easy to use control panel with large easy to read gauges
  • Maintenance free oil less pump
  • Built in accessory storage for clutter free work area
  • includes 25 ft recoil hose

puchased this compressor after my cheap portable one finally went out. came in very good packaging and everything work exactly as advertised. only downside is for some of the items you plug into it deplete the compressor rather quick and understandably the tank is small. the only reason it gets 4 stars is for the amount of time it runs to build up pressure... other than that a great thing to have in an average garage.

Factory-Reconditioned Porter-Cable C2002-WKR Oil-Free UMC Pancake Compressor with 13-Piece Accessory

Factory-Reconditioned Porter-Cable C2002-WKR Oil-Free UMC Pancake Compressor with 13-Piece Accessory Kit
  • 150 psi max tank pressure stores more air in the tank for longer tool run times
  • 2.6 SCFM at 90 psi allows for quick compressor recovery time, per ISO1217
  • Six-gallon pancake-style tank for stability; includes water drain valve and rubber feet
  • Low-amp, 120-volt motor starts easily in cold weather or with extension cord
  • Durable oil-free pump for long life and no maintenance

I purchased the C2002 WKR to replace a well used 10 year old Porter cable CF2600 120 psi 6 gallon compressor, which was overheating. With the exception of being packaged in a plain brown box (instead of the new model box printed white and red), and the small refurbished sticker on the compressor housing, my unit appears to be brand new. The box arrived in great shape with no dents or marks. I looked at a new C2002 at a big box store and it appears the plain brown refurbished box is slightly heavier than the printed new box, which is good thing if are buying on line and having it shipped.

What I like

The oversized handle on top is a great improvement over the single sided grab pocket on the old CF2600

The second air port is a great addition as It allows two guns to be plugged in and used at the same time.

My model unit came with an accessory kit containing a 25' air hose and fittings so no need to go by a hose for the second air port..

There are features on the side of the pump housing for winding up the cord, and there is a cord clip molded into the plug. No more dangling wires during transport.

There is a cover over the pressure gages and manifold The cord on my CF2600 would occasionally snag on the unprotected gauges.

The unit is slightly lighter than the CF2600 it is replacing.

The 150 psi capacity with 120 psi recharge pressure means my framing nailer in particular can run for a long time. I was applying OSB sheathing to a roof ( nailing ever 8" bang, bang, bang). By the time the air pressure got down to where the nails were not fully seated, it was time to stop and reload nails anyway. Note I run with the single shot sequential trigger. If running with the faster bump fire trigger, the compressor might not be able to fully keep up.

Looking thru the slats in the pump housing I can see that Porter Cable has added internal ducts / baffles to improve the air flow of the cooling fan. My old unit was basically an open box with a fan at one end. On this new unit I can definitely feel a forced flow of hot air coming out the back compared to the more gentle flow on the old one.

Other comments.

There is a warning label on the unit which says remove compressor from service (or replace tank) 10 years after date of purchase. Reason given is "Risk of Bursting. Water will condense in the air tank. If not drained, water will corrode and weaken the air tank causing a risk of air tank rupture". Owners manual instructs "Drain air tank daily or after each use." : Realistically speaking even purging tank after each use won't get out 100% of the water, so after ten years it is probably a good idea to retire the unit. Thus if the service life is only 10 years, saving the extra $$$ by buying a refurbished unit makes sense.

Very happy with the performance so far.

Aug 2011, One year update. Still very happy. I used it to do some spray painting which it does not have the proper capacity for, but it stepped up to the challenge and ran continuously for 10 minutes or so doing it's best to keep up. The redesigned Proper handle ( compared to its' predecessor with a pocket on one side ) makes transport so much easier.

I bought this compressor because of it's small size and portability and got something that does everything it's designed for, and very well at that. If you're looking for a compressor to top off a low car tire, blow out dust and dirt using the blow nozzle or run some of the low air consumption tools, this is a great compressor. The bonus is just about anyone can move it and its small enough to take it with you if you're helping out a friend away from your own home. I bought the factory-reconditioned model from Amazon...BARGAIN. Hope this helps you evaluate how this compressor may help you.

I bought this to power a framing nailer. The compressor was refurbished. I received the compressor within 4 days from the date of order. The drain valve on the compressor tank was defective. However, Customer Service at Porter Cable was extremely helpful. They apologized for the faulty valve and ensured that I had the replacement part in 2 days. The compressor works great. It handles my framing nailer without any problem. I believe this was a very good purchase.

... the water drain stopcock stopped working within about 1 day. The pressure tank would no longer hold air. So, with a little bit of teflon tape and a spare bolt it is again holding air. However, now I don't have a water drain; which is no big deal to me. I'll just unscrew the bolt every now and then to drain.

Still, it shouldn't have happened. Plus the water drain screw looked poorly made from the get go.

I ordered it factory-reconditioned and it arrived with a bad drain valve (wouldn't close). It was also in a more used condition then I would expect for "factory reconditioned" so I returned it and got a full refund on shipping. I ordered a second one and it was in much better condition and works perfectly.

All Power America APC4016A 3.5 Horsepower 6 Gallon 115 PSI Air Compressor With 15 Accessories

All Power America APC4016A 3.5 Horsepower 6 Gallon 115 PSI Air Compressor With 15 Accessories
  • Oil lube pump for longer life
  • Thermal overload protection for safety
  • Compact, lightweight, and mobile
  • 25 foot coil hose
  • Heavy-duty rubber tires

Ordered from Amazon, arrived quite fast, BUT:

The box looked suspicious, so I opened it in presence of the FedEx guy. The SINGLE tape holding the top in place, came off almost by itself..!

Allthough the corners of the box were torn, the styrofoam ends were "intact" and there was clearly no damage caused by the shipper..

Then I lifted it out of the box > NICE and LIGHT!! < BUT: Components fell out of the ripped, flimsy plastic foil cover. Wheels, handle and some individually packed, small parts were there BUT NO accessories as advertised (coiled hose etc.) At the initial inspection, found the main metal pipe (covered with heat sink fins) hanging LOOSE and obviously having BROKEN OFF the connection at the compression cylinder. It looked like the welding/solder connection had broken. This obviously would have rendered the compressor useless and NON functioning. No further inspection was performed, just repacked the unit carefully (evem added extra bubble wrap packaging (which should have been there in the FIRST place!!) And initiated Amazon's RETURN process, which so far was flawless and convenient as usual. I requested a refund (had no other choice from the instructions..!..?), but would NOT have asked for a replacement anyway, since I lost "faith" in this product!! Summary: I guess, "you get what you pay for", the price of ~$150.incl. "Free Super Saver" shipping, was toooo good to be true. The System looked NICE and COMPACT, was surprisingly LIGHT weight and had impressive specs. But it actually gave me the impression, it was a RETURN from someone else ALLREADY (missing components / "lousy" repacking. It's a shame, that these manufacturers built, what seemed to be, an actually nice unit and save money on the PACKAGING ! IF the unit would have been complete and NOT defective, it MIGHT have been a NICE Compressor ... I'll NEVER find out ... P.K.H

Bought it as a sample display last day when attending a trade show at Vegas. Sales manager was incredibly nice and cut me a good deal on this unit. It came with a lot of accessories that are really handy; although missing one nozzle but for the deal i got i couldn't have asked for more.

Comes with tires and handle that's easy to take it home. I have been using it occasionally for small household projects and been pretty happy about it.

Only concern is if anything happens to it, i don't have a receipt so i have to pay both labor and parts.

Will update my review if I am problems with it in the future.

It would be a good little air compressor if it wasn't broke on arrival. I went for that super saver shipping and that may be my biggest mistake. The top of the box was open when I recieved it. My coiled hose was missing. One of the female connectors was broken off with part of the threading still on the connector. The plastic cover over the switch was also broke off. The way its made you have to have that in place to operate the machine. Most people would have returned it I guess but I lost all faith in this transaction and set it out by the dumpster. A 179.00 loss and a lesson learned.

1/8" NPT(M) Tank Valve

1/8' NPT(M) Tank Valve
  • Campbell Hausfeld #MP3229 Carry Tank Valve
  • CAMPBELL HAUSFELD

When you go with a brand name like Campbell Hausfeld, you get a good product. This is a solid tank valve that can tell the first time you touch it that it will last a lifetime. I pushed it to the limits and it held up great, I can't speak so positively about my tank. Solid construction and tight threading.

There isn't much of a price difference in valves when buying small quantities. So there's no reason to go with another brand.

Pro-Force FT10 10-Gallon Portable Air Tank

Pro-Force FT10 10-Gallon Portable Air Tank
  • 135 Max PSI
  • Fully assembled, ready to use
  • High quality brass manifold
  • Durable welded on handle
  • Equipped with air pressure gauge, air line shut-off valve, pressure relief valve, easy access fill valve, 3-Feet by 1/4-Inch air hose and air chuck

The tank arrived within the scheduled and promised time and worked as expected. I really like the larger capacity of this tank compared to the smaller one I've used for years. I immediately modified the tank to accommodate quick connect accessories so that I can use it as an inflator or duster and can even use small air tools in a pinch. Overall, this is a very well made product and I would recommend it for small 200 PSI and under project needs.

Ingersoll Rand 231P32 Protective Tool Boot

Ingersoll Rand 231P32 Protective Tool Boot
  • Keeps tools clean and protected
  • Bright red color makes it easy to locate your tool in a busy shop

I purchased my first IR-231 impact off of a SnapOn truck I spotted at an auto dealership in 1980, after my SnapOn impact had greatly lost performance in six months time. With it, I purchased a solid blue Ingersoll Rand protective cover very similar to this one I even received a serial numbered A.J. Foyt four time Indy winner commemorative knife in the deal (that I still have safely put away). Over the next thirty years my impact saw plenty of use, but never daily in any shop use. It still works great and looks good mostly due to that Ingersoll Rand protective cover I put on it all those years back and the great Ingersoll Rand quality. It has fallen to the concrete numerous times and been dragged around on concrete, but the old solid dark blue Ingersoll Rand protective cover has kept it looking good, and the drops apparently caused no damage due to the small cushioning allowed by the cover.

That old cover was really showing its age after thirty years, but it was still doing the job it had always done. When I pried and slid it off, my 1/2-inch IR-231 still looked fairly new after cleaning it up. I had just purchased a new 3/4" impact and I wanted a cover for it and, as I looked at Amazon for that one, I decided to see if there was one for my old IR-231. Almost surprised to find a new Ingersoll Rand protective cover for such an old impact, I found two one in transparent blue, and this one.

In the Amazon picture this red cover appeared solid but it is a transparent red. I had also noticed two holes on the transparent blue cover toward the upper front of the cover, as placed on the tool. My old cover didn't have those two openings, and I thought this red cover wouldn't have them either looking at the picture. This red cover does have those two openings also. I have no idea why they were added, but I now know there is no difference in the blue or red Ingersoll Rand covers offered here except price and color, and a different Ingersoll Rand logo imprinted on the cover.

As for installation, the fit was just as snug as my old original cover. It was about 80 degrees Fahrenheit when I was putting it on and it wasn't difficult to install and fits nice and tight. I didn't use anything but my hands and fingers to slide and pry it into position on my clean impact.

I have to say the new transparent cover has dressed up my old IR-231 nicely, and it matches the red backing plate where the serial number/model number information and the pin greaser port are, and it has the proper opening for that grease port. In the reversing and power switch area, it has slightly larger openings than the 1980 year model cover had but nothing I can see to cause any complaint. I still can't understand those two added dirt collecting openings, but they don't appear to be any real problem either. The material used also appears to be the same so, transparent blue or red, you won't go wrong with one of these protective covers.

Of note the IR-231 was about $180 in 1980 but the SnapOn dealer did give me a trade-in credit for my malfunctioning SnapOn impact. You can find a new Ingersoll Rand 231 here at Amazon for much less and you can count on it being a great reliable tool with little maintenance especially with one of the Ingersoll Rand protective covers.

There isn't much to say. The charge of $9.00 is alot for this little peice of plastisized rubber. It is difficult to put on, but once on, it does its job. Is it important to have the boot? Probably not. But, if tools are important to you, why not protect them so they can give you their best service.

Perhaps a review is not really needed for such a simple product but here's mine anyway. This rubber tool boot goes over your IR air ratchet. This is NOT a universal fit so please be sure you order the correct one for your particular model.

You may wish to heat it slightly with a hair dryer or apply a but of dish soap to make it easier to slip over the tool. I did NOT do that and had a but of a time getting the thing on. Once "installed" it does fit well and certainly protects my new ratchet as I'd hoped.

This is a great cover to protect the tool. Just drop it in boiling water for a couple of minutes then it will slide right on. Keeps the tool clean and provides some protection against drops.

Craftsman 9-16391 Air Compressor Accessory Kit with Storage Pouch, 11-Piece

Craftsman 9-16391 Air Compressor Accessory Kit with Storage Pouch, 11-Piece
  • Specially designed for use with all Craftsman and most other air compressors
  • Reusable storage pouch blow gun safety nozzle extension tube rubber tip nozzle
  • Quick connect coupler 2 quick connect studs
  • Inflation needle tapered nozzle tire inflator
  • Blow gun adapter

I use this air nozzle all the time for many applications. My favorite is to use it with my compressor to spray out computers and clean out the dust that always seems to gather inside the case. I hate those little expensive cans of air that they sell to blow out electronics. They are a waste of money and don't have enough air or pressure to get the job done. I use this tool and I make sure to hold the fan blades still so I don't over speed them and damage them. You can clean out a computer in under a minute.

I also use this to sweep the garage floor, dry off parts I have cleaned and just general purpose cleaning on many items in my garage. If you own a fairly good size compressor then you need one of these. They are very useful!

Buy Craftsman 9-16391 Air Compressor Accessory Kit with Storage Pouch, 11-Piece Now

Ok.., I should of looked more closely at the picture of the pieces, but the NUMBER 1 thing people are looking for in a Air compressor accessory kit is a TIRE CHUCK. The blow gun is nice and the needle useful for basketballs/footballs...but what these other things are for I havent a clue and 90% of people out there have no use for. I had to run to Menards to get a Tire chuck as soon as it arrived.......!

Read Best Reviews of Craftsman 9-16391 Air Compressor Accessory Kit with Storage Pouch, 11-Piece Here

I ordered one of these to use with my compressor. I only needed to use the air gun but figured that it was worth having the other accessories. Upon receiving the package I noticed that the quick coupler didn't work. I contacted Amazon for a replacement. When I received the replacement it also had the same problem as the first item. It seems that there is no quality control with regards to this particular item. I ended up going to my local home depot and purchasing the exact pieces that I needed.
