This compressor stopped working after I used it twice for light airbrushing. Turns out that you cannot run it on an extension cord, not even a heavy duty one. That was the first thing the manufacturer said when I called about the broken compressor. It doesn't mention anywhere in the compressor's manual that you cannot run it on an extension cord but it will void the manufacturer's warranty if you do. I also called one of the repair centers from the manufacturer's website: They recommended to buy a Maxus compressor instead. It's worth spending the extra $$.

It works great for it's size! I bought this to blow out the water from the trim on cars that I detail. It wasn't big enough to do a full car so instead of buying a much bigger one for $$$$ I went to Homedepot and got 3 10 gallon air tanks for $30 each and made a "custom" "air compressor system". Now it is awesome! One downside to my setup is that it's a 3 gallon compressor filling 33 gallons of tank...(it takes an hour). But thats ok because I can't wait for a compressor to refill so I just have one that's big enough and let it fill after I'm done.

Now the compressor itself is craaaaaaaazzzzzzyyyyy LOUD!!!! I measured it with a Db meter. It's about 110 Db which is the same as a rock concert. If you have it anywhere near where you work you will go def. My "custom" solution was I set it on the concrete floor of my garage and built a brick and mortar box around it with a sound proof foam lid 8" thick on top. I took the power supply from an old computer and the cooling fans and made a cooling system for it so it wouldn't overheat in the box. Now it's about 70 Db which is the same as a casual conversation. I am sorry to say that I am very disapointed in the performance of the unit I received. It is slow and week when attempting to build up and recover psi, excessively noisy, and had pressure inconsistencies making the shortest of airbrushing strokes difficult. I have $10.99 diaphragm unit for inflating tires that outperforms this unit. If I had not become ill and been able to test the unit before return time expired, I would have requested a replacement or refund!

Item shipped from seller very fast. It is smaller than I thought it would be, which in my case is a good thing. I wanted something that could be stored in the house and moved as needed. It will primarily be used to inflate tires and toys for my nephew. It is a small compressor, so don't buy this thing thinking it will power an air ratchet or paint sprayer. It is very loud, so you may want to let it fill where it won't bother anyone or wear ear protection. Would buy again.

In the last 6 months since I purchased this for a client it has broken down twice, first the shaft on the compressor was cracked then the motor burned out and now the noise level of the pump is extremely loud. So you are thinking about this kit. It's awesome, buy it. I've worked in Hawaii, Colorado, and with framers from California. For every, paslode, senco, bostitch, portercable, harbor freight model on the job there are twice as many hitachis running at the same time.

If you are looking for a deal, um.....I don't know maybe this is it. If you are looking for tools that will keep up all day long, this kit will and more except the hoselose it quick. I'm buying the polyurethane 1/4" x 100' it's all over here in Aurora, CO and I've worked with it in the middle of winterit's a must have.

I have had this nailer and compressor for about a year and have gone through over 4 thousand nails. I have had no problems with the gun. The only problem encountered was with the compressor. OK, so first I have to say that I got the combo from HD for $350! that's the best price i've ever seen for this package, and for that price, I couldn't pass it up. I just finished a small project with it, and now it's waiting until I get permits to frame up an addition to the house. The compressor is a great, little, and strong-running oiled motor, the nail gun is pretty basic, but does whatever you need it to do, and the hose and accessories are exactly what you need. The ONLY thing I have to mention is that the compressor draws a LOT of current on start up... so make sure to have it plugged in to a circuit with nothing else running (especially when it's cold), or you run the risk of tripping breakers all day long. But when it's running, it has no problem keeping up with you. LOVE IT!

ok so i am a high end custom carpenter that does mostly framing, and i have to say from the 3 million dollar projects to the project in the back yard hitachi compressors and nailers are but far the best. The dual tank compressor can keep up with two skilled carpenters doing sheer wall nailing with very little lag and this is the only compressor of its size that even comes close to that. i have never been happier with a air purchase than i have been with this. My only advise is as far as the nail gun goes buy the NR83A2 not the NR83A the A2 has the adjustable nailing depth and if your in the trades is a huge help.

I've used this combo on many jobs and never had a complaint. Hitachi makes the best framing gun I've ever used. The compressor works as it should: plug it in and dial in the pressure for your job. It would have been nice to have a depth gauge on the gun, but that would have made the deal more expensive and you can really do that with the pressure on the tank. I think this combo is a steal.

The weakest part of the chain for me was the hose. I used it for a months before it got annoying and I upgraded it for $60. The hardware itself is top notch. I really like it.

The vinyl hose becomes unmanageable in cooler weather. I am in Austin Texas which doesn't get that cold. At temps below about 50 I cannot even get the hose to retract because it doesn't want to bend. At cooler temps the hose develops a lot of memory to where it is difficult to use. I have about given up on using it until April or so.

I was tired of tripping over twisted air hoses and ordered this from Amazon based on good reviews. I use it in a garage to work on cars primarily. I've had no problems with malfunctions in "cold" temperatures that some have mentioned. I'm in Iowa and the garage temp stays between 30-40 in the winter. Ironically, after I purchased it, I discovered that the Legacy company is only 10 miles from where I live in Iowa! Overall, it does what it's supposed to do. What else can you ask for?

Pressure Regulator

I replaced my OEM regulator after about five years. Same brand. New one works great. A bit of adivce...I installed a shut off valve between the tank and the regulator so pressure is no longer on the regulator 24/7. I leave my shop compressor on all the time so I have air whenever I need it. Old configuration had the shutoff valve after the regulator. Constant 90 psi pressure likely lead to the old regulator's seal failure after 5 years, which I believe is testimony to the OEM valve's quality. With new valve configuration, my tank holds full pressure for more than a week when not in use.

I bought this sprayer 3 years and 1 month ago (with a 3 year warranty) and ironically enough it overheated on me and is now in the trash. I was meticulous about cleaning after use and routinely cleaned the filter. I am a woodworker/cabinet maker and used the sprayer about every 3-4 months (not very often in my book). After contacting Campbell Hausfeld, they said there was nothing that they could do for me since I was 1 month out of warranty. My boss keeps buying cheap hose fittings for the shop and after a couple of weeks they start leaking and after a couple of months they fail outright only to be replaced with another cheapie.

I've known from previous shops I've worked at that these Milton fittings last much, MUCH longer many years in some cases! I absolutely love having a retractable reel for my air compressor. It use to sit in an odd spot on a shelf and was pain to pull the hose out to where I needed often times having to move the compressor as well. The 100 feet is great and I added another 25 foot of hose to the reel.

I've found that I use my air compressor a lot now for simple tasks like using compressed air to blow out dust in areas help clean out the garage, quickly fill tires in bicycles etc. Its much handier now to also use my nail guns quickly.

Here is the almost part:

The rubber hose is pretty soft like an inner tube so it attracts dirt and grime like nothing else. This really would be good for a greasy shop that needed it for pneumatic hand tools for cars.

I'm using it more around wood working so it picks up a ton of dust and particles from the ground. When guiding it as it winds up I feel like my hands are caked in grime. I think I would rather have it using one of the poly-somthing hoses that are a smooth finish.

Other than that It works great.

The unit is solid but our hose had several

Small holes at the crimped end fitting and leaked. The crimping tool obviously missed theatre and hit the hose. An easy repair but annoying and unnecessary if they would just test these things at the factory. Another example of 90% craftsmanship in modern production.

This hose does exactly what I wanted it to do. I have had no problems with the reel rewinding or catching when it is suppose to catch. The hose itself is very durable. It can be mounted just about anywhere you want it, but is quite a job to mount on the wall if you are working alone as I was because of the weight, but it can and was accomplished.
