I have a 20+ year old Topeak Joe Blow bike pump. It's the "public-use" pump I bring to the many bike clinics I do as a volunteer over the years. Thousands of bikes, car tires, kids balls and sports equipment 2 decades and constant abuse and the pump had never failed ... until the gauge started to leak about a year ago. In the last couple of months, the rubberized cover popped up suddenly at 100 psi a couple of times and once nearly smacked me in the cheek. So I took apart the gauge assembly and found the zinc cast threaded 1/8th NPT nipple had cracked. That was the source of the leak. There was insufficient thread left to keep the gauge screwed in. So I ordered this inexpensive Interstate Pneumatics gauge and it had better housing attachment and better machined metal on the base and was more than accurate enough for my bike tires. Even the old rubber housing around the old bike pump gauge fit just right around this new gauge. Now my old friendly pump is back in service.

I tried this out because they said it was quite compared to other air drills, well....they were right, this thing is very quiet compared to others I have either used or heard in the past. This air drill as with all air drills I have used have no torque so you can't drill screws with this thing but holes in metal seem to be OK and some soft woods. The smaller the drill bit the better in wood. I have drilled several larger holes in metal and have just loved this drill; it's light and easy to use. Usually I am making pilot holes for screws in wood and with smaller drill bits it seems to work OK. The larger drill bits seem to bog it down in wood and it stops sometimes. Another reason I purchased this is because of the keyless chuck that seems to work pretty well. The chuck seems to grab onto the smaller drill bits like the 1/16'' pretty darn good. All in all I am really glad that I purchased this and will look into other air tools made by Air Cat for the future.

I never sandblasted before. I had a project that I thought was small and the reviews looked good on this gun, so I got it. I have given it 5 stars because it did what it said. I've written this review to help other novices as they consider getting a gun.

CONTEXT

First, to help you understand my review, I'll give you the context. I wanted to sandblast my rusty, old boat trailer. I figured it was a small job since it is not something body mechanics are interested in doing. However, I learned that it was not a small job. It took me hours to do and hundreds of pounds of sand. I'm glad I did it. I now can do other projects and know what I'm getting into.

THE FLOW

It took me sometime to get the flow of sand to the point that it took the rust and paint off at a reasonable speed. (To me a reasonable speed is about 1 square inch per 5 seconds. Not like at an auto shop, but good enough for my project.) My compressor is able to do 135 psi, but not continuously. I found at 120 psi I was able to get good results. However, because I was doing a trailer which required me to have the gun at different angles, the canister did not work well. I kept losing contact with the sand. I got a 2' hose (I think 3' would work too) and attached it to the end of the gun. I put the other end of the hose in a bucket of sand and was able to move the gun around to get the angles I needed and also have a nice flow of sand.

SAND RECYCLE

Someone said 5 pounds of sand goes a long way. I guess that is true on a small project, but not for a trailer. First I got fine sand, but that didn't work well. I picked up medium grade and that was much better. If I could have gotten even coarser I would have. The gun doesn't have a problem moving dry sand. After 70 pounds and only getting 1/8 the way done, I decided I would recycle the sand. I put a tarp down to catch the sand. I used an old window screen to clean it. It worked great and I didn't have to drive 50 miles to get more sand. I recycled it many times and it was still so clean I kept it for another job. I put it in a plastic bag in hopes to keep moisture out.

I'm back on Amazon to get a sandblaster hood. I should have spent the $20 for the first project like someone suggested. I had tight goggles, a mask quality mask for breathing and ear plugs and still the sand got everywhere.

This sandblaster does exactly what I wanted it to do, I first bought one about 20 years ago from SnapOn for about $90, I thought it was sooo worth it after finding so many reasons to use it, and it couldn't have been easier to use either. so when I went looking to replace it a few weeks ago came across this one online and snatched it up for a fraction of the cost and it works about as good as the SnapOn one, can't get much easier than pour sand in canister and pull trigger.

Arrived nicely packed in a box however the factory package had been opened and taped up. Was it a return? who knows. There were no obvious signs of use.

Initially it didn't work and after a while I discovered some masking type tape stuck inside the sand pick up. Could of come from the bag of sand,who knows.

With that figured out it now works great, you will need a pretty good size compressor to use it.

I was skeptical that I was going to get a working product for the price. I used aluminum oxide for my cutting medium & a 200 psi compressor to do my blasting. I had a small project, so the compressor, though small did put out enough pressure to operate this gun. I had to wait on the compressor several times. A bigger compressor other than the 8 gallon 200 psi would be highly recomended, espescially if you have a large project. Something more like a shop type continuous pressure compressor. The gun worked fine, now I must work on the compressor.

Unfortunately I tried this out after the return date. This never worked at all, would not pick up any blasting media, very little suction on the siphon tube. Also it leaked air from around the fitting at the grip. My quick connect fitting was not the issue, it leaked from around the grip itself. My air compressor is way more than sufficient to power this gun and I have an air dryer so the air supply is not the issue. Total waste of money.

I had an Aztek airbrush that I could never get to work right. Bought this one after considering the Iwata trigger model.

Much better price on the Grex and their service is excellent. I own their air nail guns too.

The trigger is definitely a plus. Due to a shaky hand, I couldn't control the button style DA and get any decent paint flow. Now this one has me doing everything I always dreamed of.

Easy to load and easy to clean. I even use cheap craft paints in it with good results.

I had one of these for years 'till someone stole it.

I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get another one

that was finely made. Sometimes the item is produced cheaper

and becomes a piece of crap. I ordered this one and was

so happy to see that it was made of quality metal, nicely

put together with no metal burrs. It doesn't weigh much and
