Legacy L8611 Heavy-Duty Retractable Air Hose Reel-with 3/8-Inch by 50-Rubber Hose

Legacy L8611 Heavy-Duty Retractable Air Hose Reel-with 3/8-Inch by 50-Rubber Hose
  • Four direction rollers allow the hose to be easily pulled from the reel
  • Durable heavy-duty steel construction with all-welded steel drum
  • Narrow profile ideal for easy placement and storage
  • Self-locking fasteners stay tight even in mobile installations and metal latching pawl
  • Weep holes designed to evacuate moisture are located on the edge of drum and reduce rust

OK, so I'm a nut: I bought the Legacy 8611 to install in my home garage. It seems very sturdy -but maybe I'm not giving it the heavy work-out you might, on the bed of a service truck, or overhead some grease bay. (Note: If you're concerned about such things, this model is from China rather than Iowa; nevertheless it seems well-made. I chose the 8611 over Legacy's newer "LevelWind" models even though they're made in the USA and have the hose-leveler feature -because they are plastic (PP) instead of metal! Also I like the idea of bolting it down to my slab, versus the LevelWind models have rubber feet and a wall bracket.) Though the description doesn't say so, a 3-foot lead-in hose and two fittings are included in the package. Also, the photo is incorrect in respect to the way it was actually packaged: to use it on the floor (as shown), you must unbolt the upper arm and rotate it 90 degrees (tilt it forward). It's no big deal, but just in case you're some kind of wimp who doesn't want to fiddle around with his/her new toys...

Great hose reel. Very heavy and well built and i'd give it five stars if it were not for one little detail. The hose that is supplied seems to have missed the addition of whatever chemical ingredient that keeps it from depositing its red color on everything it touches including your hands. I tried wiping the whole thing down with denatured alcohol to no avail. Oh well. Despite the fact that I was able to install mine on the ceiling by myself I doubt that any ordinary person could do the installation alone. Yeah, it's that heavy.

Bought this for my fathers birthday. I had it sent Prime shipping and it shipped and arrived when they said it would. It gave the old man a project to tackle. He reinforced the ceiling in his garage and mount it overhead. Apparently its well built and I am now the favorite son. win.

I have used this for three months and is mounted on the garage ceiling. Very rugged for the price. Why purchase the 25 footer when the 50 footer can be bought delivered to your door(USA) in the $70.00 range, not Amazon though. YEP made in China but fits my light use needs.

This reel was purchased to replace a broken Harbor Freight reel. The quality is much better that the HF one. The hose quality is also much better. We mounted this reel overhead in a busy shop, it sees a lot of use. We have not had any problems with this reel, I would recommend it to anyone. It is the perfect reel for a shop or home garage.

Bostitch RN46 3/4-Inch to 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer

Bostitch RN46 3/4-Inch to 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer
  • 3/4-inch to 1-3/4-inch coil roofing nailer with lockout mechanism prevents firing when empty
  • Adjustable depth control, full round driver, body and magazine wear guards, side-load canister
  • Durable yet lightweight magnesium housing and carbide tips for long life
  • 10.6 inches by 10.5 inches by 4.6 inches; weights 4.8 pounds
  • Backed by seven-year limited warranty

Just finished laying 42 sq with this gun, and I have nothing but praise. Well balanced and one of the lightest guns I have ever used. In 42 sq, one jam and about dozen nails left proud. Standard home store nails work very well in this gun and are easy and cheap to find. The tool-less depth of drive works just fine and the side-loading feature is great, very fast and easy. When it is out of nails, you know it, it will stop firing.

Yes, this is a contact "bump" nailer, and if you are getting double and triple misfires, you are using this gun WRONG. If you are laying shingles all day long and you have to pull the trigger on every nail, your finger will fall off. Put your shingle down, pull the trigger, and shoot four nails, next. That is the beauty of a contact nailer. On that note, BE CAREFULL, after a long run out, your finger has a tendency to stay on the trigger, if you were to then bump any part of your body at this point, you too will get nailed.

The Cons: Superficial really, come on Bostitch (and other mfg's), Give us a cheap plastic molded case for our expensive tools and would it have been so hard to have installed an air nipple at the factory, save me a trip to the hardware store.

I purchased the nail gun about three weeks ago. I am a foreman on a flat roofing crew who shingles on the weekends and on a few jobs that shingles are required. Last weekend I used the gun to shingle a 18sq ranch and was very enthused about how the gun ran. The gun never skipped, misfired, or jammed. I then took it to work to finish a shingle job on a 62sq roof. I dont like to use my own personal equipment on company time, but the way that the gun performed I knew that it would make the job that much easier. The light weight of the gun made the accuracy phenomenal and effortlessly quick. I had one jam while doing the ridge vent, which was easily fixed in 5 sec. The gun never had any other problem. This gun made shingling a joy.

My boss has 5-6 Hitachi roofing guns and I always thought they worked fine; didn't have to pound down hardly any nails. Then for a side job, part of my compensation was a new roofing nailer. In asking around everyone said to either go with Hitachi or Bostitch. Having already been using the Hitachi's I decided to try the Bostitch. What an awesome roofing nailer!! Blows the Hitachi's away. The single door side load canister is far easier and faster to load than the Hitachi's 2-door canister (side load for the nail feed, bottom load for the coil). Also I work in Minnesota and when the temp dropped to single digits every one of the Hitachi's started dry firing constantly and I ended up going and grabbing the Bostitch, which hasn't dry fired once (I would rather not have to use my own tools on my employers jobs, but the Hitachi's are junk in cold weatherthey work fine when the weather is warmer)

I looked at this gun based on the journal of light constuction reviews I read july 06 issue. They liked the last nail capture feature and I must admit that this was my only complaint with my porter cable gun. So I bought one localy (same price as amazon with a case so it made up for the tax) and have done 3 roofs of about 20 squares each and really like it. I have seen lots of fusing on here about this and that but I muat say that if a tool was giving me this much fuse I would bring it in and see what the repair shop says. When I have had problems in the past our local reapir shop was able to get us a new gun, drill, or exstend our warranty with factory approval. I guess the second question is how much do you beat on your tools?...I tether not only my ladders and my self but my espensive tools too....nothing screws with a gun more than a three story drop. Well enough rambling...for the money an excellent gun...I still use my porter cable for a spare gun when we have an extra guy on the roof so I can't really bad mouth them...but if your banging out 5 or 6 squares a day by yourself 30 plus coils with our 12 pitch roof you appreciate the nail capture, easy load, and weight of this gun.

update: after a year this gun needed a rebuild because the nailes stopped advancing...and we bought the new portable cable while waiting for it to came back from the shop...we still prefer the Bos for its features but I will say the porter cables are more durable ....

I rented this gun prior to buying to make sure I wanted it. The rental unit worked great. Sure I had to set one or two nails manually and had at least one jam in every coil ... but isn't that the norm? So I purchased this gun from a local hardware store. What a mistake! The Bostich I bought (RN46-1) jammed every 10th nail and I had to set one too many manually. It took a 20 hour job and turned it into a 40 hour job. Needless to say when I returned the gun the first comment I got was, "Well you need to use Bostich nails." What? Are you kidding me? So I took my refund money, came here to Amazon and got the Hitachi NV45AB2, used the same box of coil nails and went to town on a roofing job. 20 coils later and I have yet to jam or manually set any of the nails. Do yourself a favor, stay away from the Bostich.

20 Ton Hydraulic Shop Press

20 Ton Hydraulic Shop Press
  • Powered by a strong20-ton hydraulic bottle jack.
  • Over All Dim: 59" x 25"

I have very mixed emotions about rating this product. Item arrived ahead of schedule and it was in scratch free condition. Instructions were more then adequate for assembly. Press arrived with a spreader bar (controls the bottom spacing of arbor) that was 3" to long. This caused the bottom of the arbor (Formed a triangle) to be 3" to wide and this caused the press platform to fall off the rods that supported the press platform. Due to this problem the lower 5 adjusting positions became unusable and very unsafe. I repaired the spreader bar (If I did not have a welder this repair would have presented more of a problem) to the correct length and this press worked fine.

I really wanted to see how good the customer service was for this product, so I sent and e-mail to Pro-line Trading (Through Amazon) and explained that the spreader bar that I received was 3" to long. E-Mail response was very quick (1 Day) and polite, Received (2) more responses that did not really resolve my problem but seeing that I had already made the repair, I felt good that customer service was as good as it was, although there still is a problem somewhere.

All in all, this arbor has turned out to be a GREAT addition to my tools and I cannot believe that I waited so long to get it. I will say that the freight cost for this item was almost as much as the cost of the arbor. If I was to order this part again, I would surely look for a local supplier and see if cost would be reduced due to shipping cost. 20 ton unit is likely an over kill, but cost difference between 12 ton & 20 ton unit was so close that it would be hard not choose the 20 ton unit.

So I am only giving this product a rating of (4) only due to the problem of the incorrect spreader bar being supplied but I do have to say that Amazon and Pro-line both did a good job with their customer service.

Purchased in June 2011 when I received it the shipping box was torn and some of the parts were scratched, but overall it was okay. Very easy to assemble even Without instructions,, the picture is good. I used the press to remove a bearing on an outdrive shaft and it worked perfecttly. I've used it seceral times already, I should have bought it along Time ago, it sure makes jobs a lot easier. It was a good buy. Highly recommended for small shop or home garage.

This press was probably my worst Amazon experience ever. Shipping was too expensive to return it, so I had to make due. The hydraulic jack would not hold so it had to be replaced. The slide that the jack mounts to; was built so poorly and the press pin so crooked that it would cock-off to one side so much that it would bind. It was easiest just to build a new one. The legs and the bottom spreader were so flimsy that I just built new ones that were much heavier. Now it works perfectly, since I've contributed and additional hundred bucks or so in materials and six or eight hours of labor.

Hitachi 19412FA 1/4-Inch by 50-Feet Polyurethane Air Hose with Automotive Plug and Coupler

Hitachi 19412FA 1/4-Inch by 50-Feet Polyurethane Air Hose with Automotive Plug and Coupler
  • Max 300 psi
  • Oil & Abrasion Resistant

  • Industrial Strength

  • Comes with a 30-day limited warranty
  • Designed with a crimped-on compression ring and screw-on quick connectors
  • Highly kink resistant preventing project interruption

I have a small compressor, and a number of nail guns: framing, trim, brad, and stapler. I found that I wasn't using the air tools all that much because I didn't feel like fighting with the #$&#ing vinyl hose. By the time I had uncoiled it, fought with the tangles, the damage it did to anything in the work area, and then putting it away...if it was only a "few" nails, I just got out the hammer.

I tried a number of hose/reel combinations, but none of them lived up to expectations. Either the hose didn't quite fit in the reel, it leaked, or reeling the hose in was still a chore.

Finally I tried this hose. I had seen it at Lowe's for a while, but always assumed that it would either not deliver enough air, or leak after a week.

I was very pleasantly surprised. The hose delivers more than enough air, although I only use one tool at a time, and at "homeowner" rates of fire. I assume it would work fine in more strenuous use. As other reviewers have mentioned, it doesn't get caught or stick to corners like the vinyl. You can move the hose around with one hand, and it doesn't knock over anything that isn't bolted to the floor. No signs of leaks, cracks, etc. Even better, it can be coiled around the compressor, meaning it no longer takes a second trip to haul the hose, compressor and nailgun from the barn.

Not sure how it would hold up to professional, daily use, but for weekend warriors like me, it is a godsend. I find myself using my air tools a lot more since the hose now can be used and put away in seconds. Anyone want to buy 50' of barely used vinyl hose?

This air hose is light-weight and easy to coil, with good quality NPT ends. However don't pay extra for this one with the male and female coupler attached. Reason they may not be the size that works with your compressor or tools. I removed them and replaced them with M style Milton set. The M style end would not seat in the female coupler. My advice just buy the hose.Hitachi 19412F 50-Foot-by-1/4-Inch Polyurethane Air Hose

I wasn't sure if this 1/4 inch hose would work with a framing nailer. I bought it with a Hitachi NR90AE round head framing nailer and a Makita MAC 2400 2.5 hp, 4.2 gal compressor. I've only been using this setup for a month, but so far I'm very impressed. There is plenty of air flow for the nailer. The smooth finish tends to slide over boards and stuff without grabbing like some rubber hoses do. All in all, a great value.

Want Hitachi 19412FA 1/4-Inch by 50-Feet Polyurethane Air Hose with Automotive Plug and Coupler Discount?

I selected poly hose as opposed to vinyl because it does not keep trying to wind-up like vinyl does. I liked the "automotive" plug and coupler because different kind and types of couplers exist, and I wanted the hose to be compatible with my compressor and a stapler gun that I just purchased. Everything worked fine. I did not need to make an additional purchase.

The Hitachi air hoses are great simply put! As a cedar shingle siding contractor I use air hoses everyday at work at lengths between 50' and 150' feet and after years of using all kinds of air hoses, I'm happiest with these. I've used everything from the 1 year use disposable bright orange ones for $10 w/o fittings that are hard and rigid in mildly cold weather and impossible to coil and use smoothly, to expensive Goodyear rubber hoses. These are super-durable, come with fittings, always stay flexible in cold weather, coil up and unroll easily and another bonus if you're up on ladders and scaffolding all day using a nailer or stapler the light weight is a huge benefit. Heavy rubber hoses are something you notice after spending the day constantly hoisting you nail gun or stapler up. The only drawback at all is that the black rubber flex/kink protectors on either end aren't permanently attached to the ends of the hose and will slide off. Wrap a narrow piece or hockey or duct tape on them and they'll stay, but who cares? The hose are awesome, light, flexible and after a couple years, I have to have one fail.
